  This tour was more than I imagined, I was first introduced to my guide named, Budi and driver, Elun. They were both very accommodating, giving me the chance to get refreshments before our long journey. The commute from Jakarta to Baduy Luar is quite a stretch but you will see endless swerving of roads into the hilltops, then you will reach the main village, meeting our Baduy Luar contact, Ian. It was then when we had to hike endless steps and paths through various smaller villages within a rainforest. While arduous, it was rewarding to see a community living a simple life from harvesting, carrying goods/materials from village to village, creating clothing by hand, or just living life amongst their family. Note: Be aware you will have to hike on steep rocks with a slippery surface. So buy shoes that will accommodate this type of terrain.   I must not have read the description and realized that it would be that much hiking. I'm not a hiker and at first I was regretting booking this adventure. But oh my goodness!!! Worth it!!! It was a great tour. My guide was very nice and knowledgeable. Plus he took good pictures which is always a plus. But the people were the true stars of this journey. The locals are incredible. I highly recommend this tour if you are in good physical health. My only concern was the driver who drove very wrecklessly. It was totally unsafe. But the guide was amazing and the trip was too

  Our guide Enok (hopefully I got this right) was amazing and very helpful. Beware of the hike though :D it is quite steep and tough in this weather. Surely not for everyone! We had a blast though. The village and nature are BEAUTIFUL!

  This tour was a fascinating look into how the Baduy people, in the 21st century, still live a simple life as their ancestors did! Bring cash, as there will be opportunities to buy locally made handicrafts created in the villages, especially hand woven items. Please be aware that this excursion will involve HOURS of hiking through the rainforest, often on very hilly and slippery terrain. But you will be rewarded with images that will remain in your memory for a lifetime. My guide, Mohammed, was an excellent translator (no one in the village spoke English) and was a wealth of knowledge, answering all of my questions. And my driver (whose name escapes me) was excellent. Driving in Indonesia is chaotic at best, but he was calm and got us to the village and back to Jakarta safely. Recommended for anyone wanting a more "active" trip. I definitely got my exercise for the day on this tour!

  The encounter with the Baduy guides was culturally really insightful. Thanks to our guide Borneo, who translated everything, we were also able to ask questions to them and further explore their culture. I suggest to bring cash for souvenirs and tips.

  This was a great experience for a whole day - guide Borneo & driver Elun went out of their way to make me comfortable and ensure i had the best possible time. A lot of insight into the way of life of the Baduy, meeting many (mainly from the outer village) on the way and encountering their calm and friendly nature. It can get a bit sticky on the trail through the villages but it is definitely worth it and i can highly recommend it to anyone with a day to spare in Jakarta and wanting to see something special. Five Stars *****

  Was a great tour and very unique where I recommend this to everyone. Ikhsan the driver was very polite and Rezky the tour guide is one of the best tour guides I have had before. He first asked some questions about me to understand what kind of person I am and then he quickly understood I was into cultural differences and unique experiences so he adapted the tour to my taste. We ate lunch at the village house, we walked into the rice fields and he explained a lot now just about the banduy but also about Indonesia as well. He would always ask if I was thirsty or tired and was very hospitable. He understands picture taking points a lot which was really great for me as I took a lot of videos.
