A beautiful vermilion bridge, located near Hakone-Yumoto Station, which is famous as a photo spot. Hydrangea is a flower that blooms in June, and Hakone is also a famous hydrangea, so it was named Hydrangea Bridge.
Hakone Shrine / Kuzuryu Shrine Singu
A shrine with a history of 1,200 years or more. In particular, the Torii (wooden gate) standing on the lake is recently getting popular as a place where you can take unique photos. The vermilion Torii in the clear blue color lake is such a fantastic view!

My tour guide was Tatsu, and he took me around Hakone. A pretty complete tour from the mystical Lake Ashi where I could see fishes jumping, to the 9 headed dragon temple, to the cable car ride up to see where the black eggs are made (and my life extended 7 more years from eating the black eggs), to finally circle back ending with a visit to the open sky museum, which was my highlights. Tatsu spoke 4-5 languages and it was fun learning out his travels and life experiences. I appreciated his accommodations, making everything fit seamlessly in a short amount of time. I was nervous taking the train back to Tokyo as the time was cutting close and the train system was still confusing to me, but Tatsu offered to accompany me since his trip back was similar. I appreciated how attentive he was, especially offering to take photos during the tour. Overall, a great companion for a memorable Hakone tour!

All in all your was very good, one disappointment was that we were not able to go to the shrine in the water...really the one thing I wanted to see! The other thing is that to many people are let onto the boat for the boat trip, so there are not enough seats. Our guide Osamu was fantastic, very knowledgeable, gentle and kind. We really enjoyed him and sharing stories! He was also very helpful in helping us understand the train system for the rest of our trip...he went above and beyond!!

Masami is an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide. We had unfortunately wet weather on our tour day, but Masami customized our itinerary to maximize our experience. He is a wealth of local knowledge and is eager to share cultural insights.

Masami Aonuma was our private tour guide through all of hakone today. He was a wonderful man, full of information and kindness. He treated us like family and made me feel very welcome. He had lots of information about the history and culture which was very appreciated. Also, the weather was poor and he was flexible and accommodating, shifting plans to make sure we still had a wonderful trip. I will 100% recommend him and Hakone to our friends in California.

We had a lovely day with our guide Nara exploring the Hakone area. He was very polite and didn’t rush us with anything, which was appreciated. The guides add a lot of information you wouldn’t get just exploring by yourself and we really value our day in Hakone with Nara thanks for a great day exploring the sights.

We had such a fabulous time in Hakone! This was definitely down to our wonderful guide, Yoshi, who was extremely knowledgeable about Hakone and Japan’s history. Yoshi wqs so attentive from the very beginning of the trip, from providing us with fans in the heat to making sure that we got plenty of photos together at each attraction. He was able to fit lots of different things into the tour, yet everything felt so relaxed and we never felt rushed from one point to the next. We loved visiting Hakone Shrine and learning all about Shintoism. Yoshi was also extremely helpful when we asked if he could help us to purchase a goshuincho so that we could start collecting the goshuin stamps. We are so glad we booked onto this tour as it was the perfect way to start our honeymoon in Japan. Yoshi also provided some extra recommendations for the rest of our time in Tokyo which we have also enjoyed.

The tour was a great experience. Our guide Tatsu contacted us in advance and prepared a schedule according to our interests. Tatsu was knowledgeable and able to answer all our questions. He was highly emphatic and flexible. One of the best guided tours we ever had.

Tatsu was great. Very accommodating and knowledgeable. We went to some of the Hakone shrines and he explained the ceremonies history and symbols which was great. He recommended the outdoor art museum which we would not have seen and didn’t know about and it was our favourite spot- our 11 year old even liked it because of the kids centre- which was well designed to engage all kids. Some fantastic statues by renowned artists set outdoors was awesome. Highly recommend the museum and Tatsu. And for what it’s worth his English was perfect- which was a bit of a problem for us with our last guide.
