Zona Arqueologica de Kabah

Kabah: A Hidden Rival on the Puuc Route We will begin the morning exploring the archaeological site of Kabah, a key settlement along the Puuc Route. Its imposing structures reveal that Kabah once rivaled Uxmal, to which it was connected by a sacbé, an 18 km "road." The architecture of Kabah will captivate you—especially the Codz Pop temple, whose Mayan name means "rolled mat" or "royal mat." This building, adorned with hundreds of masks of the rain god Chaac, is a masterpiece of Mayan art, where each mask is made up of 30 individually carved pieces. You cannot miss this gem of Yucatán. The trip from Mérida to Kabah will last 1 hour 30 min This tour will last 1 hour

The private tour of Kabah, Uxmal and the Mayan workshop has received very good reviews. The organization is clear, the guides know how to explain without making it heavy and the tour usually has a comfortable pace. Both the archaeological areas and the workshop are well maintained and a professional service is appreciated. In general, it is a recommended option for those who want to know the area quietly and more personalized.

This private tour exceeded all expectations. Exploring Kabah and Uxmal offered a powerful connection to Mayan history, with breathtaking architecture and stories that truly come to life. The Mayan Workshop was an unforgettable highlight—authentic, and deeply meaningful. A beautifully curated experience that blends culture, history, and emotion. Highly recommended.

Well worth it!. They picked us up from our AirB&B (we were outside of centro). The van was very comfortable. Our guide was Blanca. She was very knowledgeable and accomodating. Going to the ruins with a guide was a great experience, much better than going alone. And the pottery painting was really fun!

  • Excellent tour of Yucatán Mayan ruins.

This tour took me from Merida to the Mayan ruins at Uxmal and Kabah. Uxmal is the larger of the two Mayan cities and actually seemed larger than the more commonly visited Chichen Itza. Kabah is about 30 min from Uxmal and has its own unique architecture which makes it worth the visit. My guide here really made the whole experience make sense in the historical context. I really appreciate the knowledge of history and the insights which were provided in this tour. The tour included a stop at an amazing local restaurant and I even though I can’t recall whether the price was included, the stop was well worth the time and price as the food was amazing. I highly recommend this tour if you like history, ancient ruins, an informative guide and amazing food.

We wanted to get to know Uxmal and Kabah as part of the puuc route, so we chose this private tour without knowing what the craft workshop was about. The whole tour was just wonderful, we had a sunny day, the guide super good, friendly, attentive and fun, we learned a lot from the Mayan history. They took us to eat at a typical place in the area where we ate the best piggyback of the trip. The best thing was the Mayan codice painting workshop, Mrs. Maya very cute and patient taught us how and why the ancient Mayans drew their story and we learned about Mayan writing. We definitely recommend it, you will not regret it. Thank you to the agency for adapting to our changes and pleasing us in everything we ask.
