• A Fantastic Trip to Mt Fuji Area with a Wonderful Guide

  As with most Viator tours, there is well designed itinerary for the day trip. The Mt Fuji area offers many magnificent sights to visit which can easily fill more than a day. As with most private Day Trips we have taken, the tour is also customizable. What made this particular trip a bit different was that our guide, Yasir, was prepared with interesting and compelling options for alternate sights along the way. While I can easily elaborate on the amazing stoppoints from which to view and photograph Mt Fuji and other remarkable sights, I must focus somewhat on our fantastic guide, Yasir, who added significantly to the wonder and joy of the day. Having taking a multitude of tours over the years, my wife and I considered Yasir to be exceptional and special. He is, first of all, very knowledgable about the history of the areas we toured. But most of all, he was highly personable and considerate with an over and above concern for our comfort. He doesn’t miss a detail. He can be very conversational if prompted and was always ready to take our pictures in front of the magnificent vistas we visited without any prompting. Last and not least, Yasir drives the ultimate luxury vehicle. Without doubt, it was the most comfortable car I’ve ever ridden in. It is a special model Toyota made for the Japanese market. It has two rear seats that look and feel like First Class airline seats with customizable air, lighting and full recline. The drive to Mt Fuji is several hours that went by quickly in this ultra comfortable vehicle. All in all, it was a wonderful, fulfilling, non-rushed day that I can recommend, without hesitation, if you can get Yasir as your guide.

  Yassir was a wonderful guide for this experience. You can tell he has done this tour many times before and he puts effort into making it personalized to your desires. He speaks perfect English and Japanese as well as a few others. My favorite part of his tour style is he shows you the basics of an area and then let's you roam on your own. He would be perfect for someone's first time in Japan, he takes care of the language barrier. It is also so nice to have a driver so you can relax and enjoy the day. To make it better, the weather was perfect to see Mt. Fuji all day which is very rare for spring. You are not guaranteed to see it. We stopped at 4 locations that we loved. The ice cream at Oishi park was some of the best I've had. The Pagota has a famous photo spot so expect a line. We waited 60 mins then you have 5 minutes to take photos at the top. The shrine was much less crowded and very cool being surrounded in forest. The little town, I forget the name, is closer to the mountain so it looks bigger, but this was crowded too. Overall a wonderful experience, I would do it again.

  We had an excellent experience with Mike as our private tour guide in Tokyo. His communication before meeting up was reassuring and during the tour he seamlessly coordinated our schedule, giving us space to explore on our own and then reconnecting at the right moments. Mike was incredibly friendly and informative, giving us advice on where to sit on the pirate ship for views of the tori gate and how to best avoid waiting times and crowds. With his fluency in both languages, there was never any language barrier and he consistently enriched our time with history, cultural insights (including where we could go the following day for cherry blossom sightings) and fun facts. His bubbly personality made the day even more enjoyable. We would wholeheartedly recommend Mike to anyone wanting to visit Mt Fuji and the surrounding areas without the hassle of planning.   This is our second time having Maiku as our driver/guide to the Fujikawaguchiko area and both times were amazing. Whether you have a strict itinerary of a more free-flowing itinerary, it is so convenient to book this experience to suit it to your needs. Next time we’re back in Japan, we’re definitely going to book this experience again to explore other areas.

  Yasir was the perfect guide, nothing was too much trouble for him. He is very knowledgeable about the Mt Fuji and Hakone tour. It was a long day and we loved it. Cannot recommend Yasir highly enough. We did a second private tour with him that was just spectacular.

  We did the Mt. Fuji tour and had an absolutely wonderful experience. Yazir truly went above and beyond—he kindly picked us up from a different location than the usual meeting point, which made things so much easier for our family. Throughout the day, he was incredibly patient, thoughtful, and attentive. What stood out the most was how naturally he connected with our two-year-old—by the end of the trip, they had become such sweet friends, which meant a lot to us as parents. Yazir made the entire journey smooth, comfortable, and memorable. He is genuinely one of the best guides we’ve had, and I would highly recommend both this tour and especially Yazir to anyone visiting Japan.
