Poas Volcano National Park
Upon arrival at Poás Volcano National Park, your private guide will lead you on a scenic and easy walk (300 meters / 984 feet) through a lush cloud forest trail to the main crater viewpoint. 5.00My toddler and I were lucky to join Paticas Travel with our guide Karla for a private full day of adventure to Alajuela Province. The early start to our day began with a local breakfast and drive to Poas Volcano. Although the weather did not cooperate, we had a wonderful time driving to see the sites and learn about this active crater and activity. We made our way down the volcano to a local strawberry farm where we tasted sweet treats, learned about the farming of strawberries and even picked our own to take home with us. Karla even surprised us with a drive through the countryside for waterfall viewpoints and a secret lunch spot overlooking a crater lake since Poas' lake was too cloudy! Karla was extremely professional and kind to my son and I and made our day memorable and easy. She went above and beyond and I cannot wait to book a future excursion with Paticas Travel the next time we are in Costa Rica! If you are traveling with young children, Paticas Travel does an amazing job of making a family excursion accessible and fun for all!
