We will start our trip in Quito very early in the morning, during the entire journey we will be able to enjoy the beautiful Andean landscape, on the way we will observe several snow-capped mountains such as Cotopaxi and Illinizas, when we arrive at Quilotoa we will be totally amazed to admire all the beauty of the lagoon from the viewpoint, here we will have adequate time to take several photos and enjoy the place.

Then we will begin the descent towards the lagoon for approximately 40 minutes, upon arrival we will have the necessary time to explore the shore and also carry out water activities such as canoeing, once everything described is finished we will begin the ascent that lasts two hours depending on the physical state of each person, we will go at an adequate pace until we reach the starting point.

Finally we will enjoy a delicious typical lunch before returning to Quito.

The service is private and all tours are with a tourism professional who is also a certified guide.

What To Expect

This beautiful lagoon sits in the crater of the volcano of the same name, in the Chugchilán mountain range; its waters are characterized by having a strong mineralization that prevents ichthyological and ornithological life. Our adventure will start very early in the morning, since our destination is almost three hours from the capital, throughout the trip we will enjoy beautiful landscapes until we reach our starting point, which is the viewpoint of the lagoon, in this place We will begin the descent for approximately 45 minutes, to reach its shores, throughout the journey we will observe the wonderful Andean landscape that surrounds the lagoon, once on the shore it is optional to do the canoeing activity (kayak). After taking the necessary time, we will begin the return of approximately two hours, with the due precautions that the ascent implies, to finally return to Quito. The service is private and all tours are with a tourism professional who is also a certified guide.

Any trip with Andres is amazing. W meet him on our hot spring tour but instantly booked him again for a tour of Quilatoa. He is the best guide we have ever had. He makes the best recommendations and is very professional. I highly recommend his services!

A great day on this tour. Andres was the perfect guild, his car is immaculate and he made us a big pack lunch for the day. Quilotoa was beautiful and Andres got some great pics of us at the top. We decided to hike down and kayak on the lake at the bottom. The walk down is a bit slippy because of the loose path but the kayaking was awesome and reasonably priced. The hike up is something else, and definitely a slog, so bare this in mind if you are going to attempt it. Andres gave us plenty of time to shop and even stop for ice creams on the way back. A really lovely guy who we would definitely recommend.

Andres is the most personable guide. We felt like we were just hanging out with a friend. He’s so knowledgeable about his entire country, not just Quilotoa! He made it a point for us to get great pictures everywhere we were and provided a great snack. We will book with him Again.

I had a great trip with Andrés and his girlfriend to Quilotoa. They are really funny and open minded and we got along really well right away. Totally would recommend him. Looking forward to go on a tour with you guys again when Iam back in Ecuador!
