What To Expect

Peles Castle

Peles Castle, former summer residence of the kings of Romania, in Sinaia, a well-known mountain resort. Nowadays the Castle is one of the most important museums in Transylvania where one can admire furniture and ornamental objects, carpets, tapestry, sculptures, paintings, collections of weapons from the 15th to the 19th centuries.

Bran Castle (Dracula's Castle)

Bran and the famous Bran castle, also popularly known as 'Dracula`s Castle,' The gothic fortress, located 15 miles (25 kilometers) from Brasov, grew in fame thanks to novel written in 1897 by Bram Stoker which was later on adapted into a feature film by Francis Ford Coppola. The first documents about Bran Castle appeared in 1377. Throughout history, the Castle had a strategic mission as the border between Transylvania and Wallachia. First it was under the reign of the King of Hungary, Sigismund of Luxemburg, and after that under the Romanian voievodes Mircea cel Batran and Vlad Tepes and later on it came under the jurisdiction of the City of Brasov. In 1912 it was donated by the municipality of Brasov to the Romanian royal family, in order to become their residence.

(This was not a private trip but a coach with group of 30 people). Fantastic day trip from Bucharest. Great way to see the beautiful countryside and we got to see it all in the snow - magical! Tudor was a great tour guide, funny and lots of great facts even while we were on the coach. Peles castle is a must see. Some small hills and steep stairs in the castles. It’s a long day 7am - 8pm but well worth it. Bring snacks and have a coffee/tea before you go. No toilet on the coach but lots of loo breaks.

A pleasant surprise! Our guide Vlad, picked us up practically from the house together with the driver Florin. On the way to the first stop, the castle of Peles, we went through many realities and thanks to the professionalism and precision of Vlad, we fell in love with them! The first castle, in my opinion the most beautiful, was really a pleasant surprise! Truly enchanting as Vlad's tales of the nobles who lived there. The second stop, Bran Castle, we did not visit it by choice, but I must say that the town still surprised us with its culinary peculiarities (obviously suggested by Vlad). The last stop, the city of Brasov, we really liked, and we were left with time to walk around freely. What about.. I highly recommend this trip, Transylvania is a place full of unspoilt beauty, and with such a guide, who has us passionate all day with his stories, it was even more pleasant. Thank you Vlad!
