A dress code is required to enter places of worship and selected museums. No shorts or sleeveless tops allowed. Knees and shoulders MUST be covered for both men and women. You may risk refused entry if you fail to comply with these dress requirements
The tour operator is not responsible for last minute, unpredictable closures, strikes or union meetings of St Peter's Basilica. Nevertheless, the tour operator will be happy to offer customers an extended tour for the remaining time.
For the 3hours, 4hours and 5hours option: If the Basilica reaches full capacity, access will unfortunately not be allowed, and this will be beyond our control. In such a case, more time will be spent inside the museums.
Hotel drop off at the end of the tour is not included but it can be added for an extra cost. Please message us to add drop off at the end of the tour

Vatican Museums
You will be taken to the usually packed museum entrance, where you will meet you private tour guide and, with your "skip the line" ticket, you will skip the huge entry line and access the metal detector check. All of our tour guides are local experts and have a deep knowledge in art and history. They are perfectly trained to follow your pace, assist you throughout the whole tour and guarantee you an unforgettable experience! The tour will begin in a gorgeous panoramic terrace that offers a stunning view of St. Peter's dome overlooking the Vatican gardens. 5.00It's far more time efficient to book a tour, and this one was excellent. You can get lost in the Vatican easily, but a proper guide will help immensely. Giancarlo was a blessing to have show us around.

5.00Our guide gave us an excellent tour of the Vatican despite large crowds and a lot of noise. She did a good job of navigating around the crowds but making sure we had a thorough tour. Her knowledge base, which she shared, was really extensive.

1.00Very unfortunate experience and by far the worst experience I have had on a Viator private tour. Despite being in continuous communication with the tour to tell them this was a very special occasion, we were informed only upon arrival that Saint Peter’s Basilica was closed and we wouldn’t be able to see it and that this is well known by locals that the Basilica is closed the Saturday before Easter. This is a significant breach of contract by Viator who could have helped us to reschedule when the Basilica was open. Viator needs to take accountability for this misrepresentation and lack of care. This will be my dad’s last chance to se the Basilica due to age. It was his birthday wish that he would get to see the Basilica and we flew thousands of miles to make that happen. Viator let us down and was negligent in transparently communicating within a window where their was opportunity to correct this.

1.00The guide was excellent, however we were not notified ahead of time that the Basilica was closed. Seeing the Basilica was 1/3 of the tour. Additionally, Viator had posted that the “End point” was the same as the “Meeting point”. We were picked up at the hotel, that was the “Meeting point”, but there was no transportation arranged to return us to the hotel. So I paid more than $850 for only part of the advertised tour and had to cover additional costs and deal with several Uber cancellations, trying to get back to the hotel. I reached out to the tour company twice prior to arriving in Rome. The purpose was to discuss the transportation. The tour company never responded and they blamed Viator. Super disappointing. Lack of communication with the tour company and each time I called Viator, staff just listened to the issue for a couple minutes, then hung up. In my view, Viator does not support the customer as they should.

4.00It was an interesting tour, the tour guide was the best you can imagine, with a lot of knowledge, but the crowd of people was overwhelming, terrible and unbeatable. I would never take surgery again. The second issue is the return to the hotel was apparently not included and I realized that later on looking on the backside of the paper I had. This is not a private tour that is enjoyable because I had to hire a private driver to get back to our hotel. Nothing wrong with a guide but the whole tour was not enjoyable.
