What To Expect

Put on comfortable walking shoes and come to meet the guide from a hotel, port terminal, airport arrival or agreed meeting point, who will take care of you on your first acquaintance with Helsinki. In Helsinki it's possible to get a snapshot of the city in an hour or two, spend several days, exploring its various corners and visiting museums, or come here again and again, but this half day route is designed as the most optimal to see the best and get strong impression of Finland and its capital. Normally starting at approx. 9am, the time can be adjusted according to your wish. The guide will lead you along the main streets and squares, show the busiest, most popular and less visited, peaceful parts of the city. You will occasionally hop on a tram or city bus, like citizens do, to cut distance, but nothing is far apart in Helsinki. See the beautiful and unique architecture, old and new, and understand Finnish character through the city's monuments and history. On this private, easygoing and flexible walk, stop for anything to shop, eat or have a rest - the walk's pace will count on your time and needs. The only extra is the day ticket for city public transportation.

Michail met us at our apartment where we are staying in a suburb. We have been here for a few days so we have walked around and seen most of the 'tourist' attractions so it was a bit more of a challenge to show us things we hadn't previously seen, but he managed to very well for 4 hours. His knowledge of Finnish history and life was very extensive and we got a very good overview of the way of the Fins. I would highly recommend this tour and Michail as a guide.

Darius did a great job giving us an overview of the key area of the city in a morning. We loved the central library which was so much more than expected. He also left us with a recommendation for a great lunch after the tour.
