Chateau Sopot is one of the most renowned Macedonian wineries, with quality wine production, and breathtaking on-site scenery. If you are in Macedonia, visiting the vineyard is terrific idea – combining the outdoor with the gourmet, it is a very popular day trip.

Location wise, the Chateau Sopot winery sits to the right of the pay toll on the Skopje-Veles highway. It is close to Lake Mladost, which is another popular destination near the Veles district, so you can hardly miss the entrance.

Beautifully located a 40 minute drive from Skopje. We were given a brief history and tour of the destillery, before we sat down for a great five-course lunch with accompanying wine, along with a spectacular view. Two whites and two reds (and he threw in a complimentary rosé). Highly recommend!

We had an absolutely amazing time at Chateau Sopot! I cannot recommend this tour more. Our driver was on time and amazing in getting us to Veles and once we arrived the team at the winery were so welcoming and accomodating! Plus the food and wine was exquisite and it was fantastic to learn from the team about the wine they produce. It was a fantastic experience - worth every dollar everyone visiting Macedonia should add this to their itinerary.

Great day trip, from start to finish, everything was perfect. The wines and food were really good, and both the guide and owner were friendly and knowledgeable. An excellent way to spend the day, highly recommend.

Our experience began when we were picked up by a friendly private driver in a very clean car. Upon arriving at the chateau we were met with incredible views of the vineyards spanning the valley! After a tour of the wine vats we sat down for the tasting and 4 course meal. The wine was as delicious as the food it was paired with, we were pleasantly surprised with desert and rakija as an extra course! Overall this was the best tour we took in North Macedonia and would highly recommend visiting Sopot! 5*
