  Beautifully located a 40 minute drive from Skopje. We were given a brief history and tour of the destillery, before we sat down for a great five-course lunch with accompanying wine, along with a spectacular view. Two whites and two reds (and he threw in a complimentary rosé). Highly recommend!

  We had an absolutely amazing time at Chateau Sopot! I cannot recommend this tour more. Our driver was on time and amazing in getting us to Veles and once we arrived the team at the winery were so welcoming and accomodating! Plus the food and wine was exquisite and it was fantastic to learn from the team about the wine they produce. It was a fantastic experience - worth every dollar everyone visiting Macedonia should add this to their itinerary.

  We utilised Explore Macedonia for two day trips and a transfer to the airport. We did the day trip from Skopje to Kosovo, plus the day Winery trip to Sopot. The day trip to Kosovo was well organised and we never felt rushed. Our driver spirited us thru the border quickly whilst everyone one else was lined up waiting for clearance. The local Kosovar guide was great, knowledgeable and personable. The Sopot winery visit, where we had five course meal with paired wines, was an awesome day. The winery is well and truly worth a visit. I think Explore Macedonia is very easy to deal with and offers quality tours. If we were to travel to Macedonia again, we would happily utilise their services. A shout out to Mikki, our driver, he was excellent.

  Great day trip, from start to finish, everything was perfect. The wines and food were really good, and both the guide and owner were friendly and knowledgeable. An excellent way to spend the day, highly recommend.

  Our experience began when we were picked up by a friendly private driver in a very clean car. Upon arriving at the chateau we were met with incredible views of the vineyards spanning the valley! After a tour of the wine vats we sat down for the tasting and 4 course meal. The wine was as delicious as the food it was paired with, we were pleasantly surprised with desert and rakija as an extra course!   We had an amazing day at this vineyard! Started with a cup of coffee and enjoying the view over the grape trees, then we went in and got an introduction to how the wine is made and how they label each en every bottle by hand, showing the love for their product! :) The four wine taste we had, was paired with an equivalent amount of lunch courses, and the amount of food was more than a lunch (we shouldn't have eaten breakfast) never the less, it was delicious, and exciting to feel special surrounded by the very trees the wine we drank came from. We warmly recommend visiting and enjoying life.

  We thoroughly enjoyed the tour of this small vineyard. Our host Cawko was very informative and is a great advocate for the quality of Macedonian wines. We have been on tours of vineyards in Sonoma and Tuscany and this tour certainly matched in terms of knowledge of the wine making process and the vineyard. The lunch was an outstanding five course meal with matching wine varieties of Riesling, Chardonnay, Cabernet and Vranec. While we are not wine connoisseurs, the quality of the wine was very good for our taste buds. We especially prefer reds and purchased a bottle of the grand Cabernet and the Vranec. The price per bottle was a very reasonable $12 per bottle. The driver picked us up at our hotel on time and we drove through the mountains to get to the Chateau. The only negative was the weather was cloudy. They also should consider shipping wine to avoid the airport hassle for travelers.

  Everything went very smooth, we were driven there (about 40min) through some beautiful landscapes and the winery in itself was also beautiful with a spectacular view. The owner gives you a tour then about 30min max, he really knows what he is talking about. And then we got a four course lunch each of the courses with adjusted wines from the winery. Then you also get a small dessert with rakija. An then you can ask the driver to take you back whenever you prefer. Lovely trip all in all definitely would recommend.
