5.00I found Barney after he reached out to me when I was looking for information on Facebook for our Carnival cruise port stop in Amber Cove ( Puerto Plata) He was fantastic with constant communication even with my constant questions! LOL He and his daughter gave me and my family a fantastic day and went over and beyond what we were expecting. It was a jammed packed fantastic day loaded with tons of information, sightseeing, food, tons of pictures ( that Barney and his daughter took and sent to us for free that night) shopping and of course monkeys! Monkey Home was fantastic and so much fun! We could not have picked a better tour guide. This was by far our favorite port thanks to Barney. He’s not just a wonderful tour guide he’s truly a wonderful person! You will never find a better tour guide than Barney!

5.00Barney was amazing!! We had the best time and the experience was amazing. We learned about the city and was able to take so many pictures and absorb the atmosphere and culture without being rushed. It was just our private group and that made the experience even better. Barney did everything from holding our bags to helping us in and out of the van!! A true gentleman. The folks over there are so nice and honest. I had bought some jewelry from one of the shops and I was overcharged. I had not idea as all of their receipts and prices are in Pesos. So I didn’t pay much attention to it. So we went to a different store and while there Barney gives me $20 back and says the store overcharged me by mistake and wanted to give me back the difference. I was so shocked and grateful and asked. Barney to please tell them thank you for me. He got them on the phone so that I could thank them personally. Where else would you get treatment like that especially in this day and time. The beach part was amazing and beautiful as well. And it was on the same beach that Carnival and other large name cruises have excursions on as well. Very much worth every penny and more! Thank you Barney for an amazing experience!!

5.00We had the most amazing time today with Barney’s Tours! From start to finish, they were so organized, efficient with time, kind, and incredibly informative. We had Paulino as our tour guide, and he was absolutely top notch! He was so attentive and thoughtful throughout the entire day. He even stopped on the side of the road to get fresh pineapple for my daughter, which was such a kind gesture and made the experience even more special. I can honestly say this was the best tour hands down, and we would book again in a heartbeat! We are already planning to come back to the Dominican Republic next year, and we will definitely be booking with them again. 5 stars all the way!

5.00We had a fantastic experience with Barney tours. He picked us up right on time from our cruise and gave us a private tour that was one of the highlights of our trip. We visited Monkeyland, explored the city, and he even brought us to a great local spot for lunch that we never would have found on our own. Everything was smooth, relaxed, and well-organized, and we always felt taken care of. Most importantly, he made sure we got back to the ship with plenty of time, which gave us real peace of mind. We truly appreciated the experience—thank you! And apologies it took us a bit to get this review posted.

5.00We had an amazing tour in Puerto Plata! We were met by Barney just outside the cruise port and taken on a private tour. We explored the city and learned so much! Barney is very knowledgeable and friendly. We also spent time at a beautiful beach, where we relaxed, had lunch, and of course, I had to get a piña colada served in a pineapple ☺️ Don’t hesitate to book with Barney, they’re legit, safe, and budget-friendly. Highly recommended!

From the very beginning, communication was excellent—Barney kept in touch before our trip and made everything feel smooth and well-organised. Our guide was incredibly friendly and made us feel completely safe and looked after throughout the day. You could really tell he cared about making sure we had the best experience possible. The highlight for us was definitely the squirrel monkeys—they were amazing! We had plenty of time with them, which made it feel relaxed and really special rather than rushed. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone considering it. When my youngest is a bit older, we’ll definitely be booking again to try the waterfalls and buggies!
