5.00We had an amazing experience with Barney and Dominican Atlantic Transfer Tours! Elias was our guide for the day. They picked us up right outside the port at Amber Cove, which made everything super easy and stress-free from the start. We got to visit the monkeys, which was such a fun and memorable part of the day, and then enjoyed a great city tour of Puerto Plata. Elias made sure we hit all the spots we wanted to see without ever feeling rushed. The whole excursion felt very safe, well-organized, and personalized to what we were looking for. If you’re visiting the area and want a reliable, enjoyable excursion, we would absolutely recommend booking with them!

5.00We had an outstanding experience with Barney in Puerto Plata—easily the best tour guide we’ve had anywhere in the Caribbean. From the moment we met him, he made our family feel comfortable, safe, and well taken care of. He has a great personality and a natural ability to connect, which made the entire experience enjoyable from start to finish. What really stood out was how he went beyond the typical tourist stops. He showed us not only the popular photo locations, but also gave us a glimpse into everyday life in Puerto Plata, which made the tour much more meaningful. He’s also incredibly skilled with a camera—he knew exactly where to take us and how to position us, and we ended up with some fantastic photos that we’ll always appreciate. If you’re visiting Puerto Plata and considering a private tour, I highly recommend booking with Barney. He truly made our trip memorable.

5.00Gersons was awesome. He was in touch with everyone around and made us feel party of the DR family. We were able to adjust to our wants versus sticking to a stick schedule. Extremely easy to book and find. The team sent a couple of WhatsApp messages once booked to welcome and give directions that were easy to follow. Loved the trip and would book again.

5.00We had a wonderful experience with Barney in Puerto Plata. He was very punctual, friendly, and professional from the beginning. Our tour guide, Marcelino, was fantastic! very attentive and patient with our three teenage girls who wanted to talk a lot and take lots of pictures. He never rushed us and made the whole day very enjoyable. The monkey experience was definitely the highlight of our trip, such an amazing experience and we also really enjoyed the city tour and learning more about Puerto Plata. The only thing I wouldn’t recommend is sitting down to eat at Playa Dorado beach because the restaurant service was very slow, and we couldn’t take the girls to the beach afterward due to the delay. This was not Barney’s fault, it was just a very busy beach day. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely recommend Barney if you’re visiting Puerto Plata.

5.00Our family of four took a tour with Barney during our Amber Cove cruise stop. We went to Monkey Land and toured the city. Barney is an amazing tour guide and we felt very safe! Our daughter wanted to try some local fruit and he delivered! We felt like the entire city knew him! Don’t hesitate to book with him!! Thanks again Barney!

5.00We had a tour where we first went to Monkey land and then we did a city tour where we got to check out the umbrella Street alongwith the pink Street and go to some cigar shops where they were making cigars explain the whole process. The best part of the private toursare that they get you in and out of the locations prior to the crowds, getting there from the cruise ship tours. It did a fantastic job getting us to the monkeys before there were line lines. We felt completely safe and would 100% use them again!
