Lu-Li Island
Luli Island got its name because its sandbar appears and disappears (lulubog and lilitaw), depending on the tide. This is part of the Honda Bay Island hopping tour you can do from Puerto Princesa city. It has powdery cream-colored sand and clear emerald waters perfect for swimming and beach bumming. You will then be transferred by boat to Luli Island. Luli is a play on the local dialect's words "lulubog-lilitaw," which indirectly means "Now you see it; now you don't." This is because the island is visible only when the tide is low and becomes underwater as soon as it gets high. You will spend about an hour on this island. You can snorkel, swim, and sunbathe. After your stay on Luli island, you will proceed to Pambato Reef where you can snorkel with amazing marine life. You will see giant clams, colorful fish, and live corals. Enjoy sunbathing on the beaches, go swimming or snorkeling in the crystal clear waters and get close to beautiful marine life. - Please bring money for the Environmental Fees which they required for actual payment and no advance booking of Environmental Fees

AVOID VIATOR TOURS! I booked a tour to Honda Bay at Palawan and the Viator agent confirmed to me that no further details would be needed, and that I would have to pre-pay the full amount, which I have later found out, is twice the amount of local operators. Despite showing up at the agreed location, and the agreed time, no one came to pick me up. When I tried to get a refund, this was refused repeatedly. I strongly urge anyone to AVOID booking tours with this agency.

Proceed with caution: after many years of loyalty, I will no longer use this service. When the third-party tour company cancelled our event due to high winds, we knew we were in good hands as Viator’s website offers the option to reschedule OR a full refund. Luckily, I was able to reschedule; however, my friend was unable as his flight prevented him from doing so. The third-part company that Viator contracted with, Rio Travel and Tour, offered me a refund of a fraction of what I paid. I refused their offer and I contacted Viator for support. Viator intervened and after a few hours I was offered a partial refund; not a full refund. This is a great disappointment as the website clearly states a change a schedule or full refund. (Google Viator and it’s in their description and it’s also outlined in the booking process) At a time when tourism is on the edge of rebounding and with more and more travelers writing and reading reviews to determine what is in their best interest, it’s too bad that Viator and Rio Travel and Tour faulted on their advertised promise. In addition to this review, I’m reaching out to the big enchilada, Mrs. Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, person in charge at the Department of Tourism AND good friend of the person described in this message that couldn’t attend due to his flight schedule.

This was a fun tour with one negative that I am inclined to mention. If you want to snorkel and are inclined to rent snorkel gear don't. The snorkeling area "reef" was extremely small and when I was there they must have had 60 people in the water at the same time. The other two islands that we visited were great and the water and beaches were fantastic. Overall a good trip if you are in Puerto Princesa but be aware of the snorkeling challenge.
