I did the Charco Azul adventure today with GeoAventuras PR, and our guide Abdiel was outstanding. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the area and took his time with us the entire way. Safety was clearly his priority he explained every section of the route, showed us exactly where to jump into the water, and made sure we were comfortable before moving on. One thing I really appreciated was how patient he was. He never rushed us and made the whole experience feel fun and relaxed. He also took tons of great pictures, which was super cool and made the day even more memorable. If you’re planning to visit Charco Azul, I definitely recommend Abdiel. He made the experience safe, exciting, and unforgettable!

After looking at several options, I chose this one because of the things I’ve heard about the guides.Mara and Kevin were fantastic!! We had people of different physical fitness and confidence levels and they were able to help all of us. I have never jumped off of rocks into a river before, but they made me feel very comfortable and I did it twice. It was overall a fantastic experience without being too challenging. We were traveling as a family of four, ages 50, 49, and two 22-year-olds.

Kids loved it, grandparents too. Mix of hiking & swimming, and a couple of jumps (10' and 12') into pools of spring water. Our tour guide (Mara) was super knowledgeable, enthusiastic and fun! She took the time to point out a number of native or endemic flora (maga tree, meaito, llagrumo, and about four different plants that give nasty rashes) and fauna (wasp nests, termite mounds, gongolis, bobo mayor, sanpedrito), not to mention the petroglyphs and an indigenous method of creating face paint from river stones. We'll definitely be back for another tour soon. Don't skip the delicious limbers at the end!

Abdiel and his assistant were great and very helpful throughout the tour. They took many great photos and shared them after our adventure. The Charco Azul tour was amazing! I overcame my fear of heights and murky water!! This was a first hike for my husband and I and we survived…lol The views were amazing as well as the caves! Everything was great and I am so glad we did it! If you want adventure this is a must! You’ll be so happy you did it!!

Our group of 9 (4 teenagers and 5 adults) had a great time exploring the river and caves of the Vega Baja area! Abdiel and Kevin, our excellent guides, educated us on the trees, flowers, millipedes and history of the area while we made our way to the river and caves. They had a great way of blending safety, education and fun - the river was high when we went, and they always had their eyes on everyone and gave guidance and assistance when needed. You will jump from ledges (if you want to!), navigate trails through the rainforest, swim and walk down the river and through beautiful limestone caves, see a waterfall, a Taino petroglyph, fruit bats, millipedes and more. It was a really fun and educational way to explore a part of Puerto Rico most tourists don’t see, and our teenagers loved it. You will walk down a steep and slippery concrete road in the beginning, and the river bed is of course made of rocks if all sizes - so be prepared to scramble a little and wear shoes with good traction. Abdiel and Kevin were always there with a hand to assist when needed, and showed you where to place your feet or move to make things easier. Bring your sense of adventure and wonder - you won’t regret this tour.
