The tour begins base nearby the Mýrdalsjökull glacier in South Iceland. We start by going over the tour plan and safety instructions. From the base we cross some small rivers and head down to the black lava sands fields which derives from the dormant volcano Katla. Down by the black beach we stop and enjoy the amazing view up to the Mýrdalsjökull glacier and along the coast to the southernmost part of Iceland, the small peninsula Dyrhólaey. We then head along the coast to the famous aircraft wreck, from there we continue to the river Jökulsá and up to the foot of the mountain. Upon our return we follow the mountain back to the base. The ATV experience itself lasts approximately 2 hours. You will ride 2 people per ATV, with one driving and one as a passenger. If you are traveling alone, or in an odd-numbered group (3, 5, 7 etc.) there is an additional charge payable locally for single riders. The adventure will provide stunning photo opportunities in good weather, so don't forget to bring your camera! You will be provided with everything you need for a safe and comfortable ride. No ATV experience is required to take part and the skill level for this activity is deemed as 'easy'.

Trip was great! Trails were fun. Good mix of puddles, snow, streams and sand to drive through. Got to learn some history of the beach as well. Bjarki was a great guide

Our buggy tour was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The vehicles were in excellent condition, which made the whole experience feel safe, smooth, and even more enjoyable. Everything ran perfectly on time, and you could tell the team was very professional and well-organized. The scenery was breathtaking — we went through rivers, beaches, snow, and even canyons, which made the entire ride feel like a true adventure. Every stop felt like a postcard moment, and we got some incredible pictures along the way. A special highlight was our tour guide, Hinrik, who was fantastic. He led us through an amazing trail and made sure we experienced the best of everything. His knowledge and energy really elevated the tour. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience and definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommend!

This was a fantastic experience!!! Our guide, Sindri was clearly happy to be there and enjoyed showing everyone a good time! He helped the one person in our group who needed a little more confidence on her quad, and made it so the rest of us could push our quads pretty hard. He also knew his history about the Navy aircraft we visited. We asked him extra questions while the group was enjoying some time around the aircraft. He was also polite and helpful getting a guy (not from our group) down, who climbed up on top of the airplane. All in this was a good tour made great by our guide Sindri!!! We will ask for Sindri by name when we go back!!!

Great trip all around! Went during snow season which made use of the ATV’s even more enjoyable. Nice trails, through water, on the black beach and right up to the DC117. All the equipment you need provided. Jordy was our knowledgable guide there.
