Meet a free-roaming Sámi reindeer herd in the wild, then return to the family’s home to share an Arctic meal by the fire. Along the way, guests interact with tame reindeer, learn from working dogs, and experience Sámi life up close, not as a show, but as a living tradition.

Sámi Home: Travelers are welcomed at the hosts’ Sámi home in Kautokeino, where they are introduced to the day’s journey and learn the basics of reindeer herding culture.

Arctic Tundra and Free-Roaming Reindeer Herd: Guests travel into the Arctic mountains to meet a free-roaming reindeer herd in its natural environment. Along the way, there are opportunities to observe the animals, learn about their behavior, and, depending on the season and conditions, help feed the herd. The focus is on respectful, non-invasive interaction guided by Sámi knowledge and tradition.

The Reindeer Safari and Lavvu Dinner was truly a magical and unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfectly organized and deeply authentic. The reindeer safari through the snowy landscape felt like stepping into a winter fairy tale: peaceful, unique, and incredibly special. The guides were friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel welcome at all times, sharing interesting stories about the local culture and the reindeer. After the safari, the Lavvu dinner was the perfect ending to the evening. The traditional Lavvu was warm and cozy, and the food was delicious, comforting, and full of local flavors. This experience combines nature, culture, and tradition in the most beautiful way. I would recommend to anyone visiting the area. Truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Was on a fantastic trip at the reinsafari and feeding of the reinan. I even had my foot in plaster, and it was no problem to join the mountain in their slide, as I had crickets with me, so I could feed the reins to take pictures also out of the slide on the mountain. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who wants an authentic experience along with the reinan on the mountain
