Reindeer sleigh ride and feeding experience was great Meal was VERY basic. The talk from Sami gentleman interesting. Feel the large numbers of people visiting at the same time should be smaller The tent we ate in struggled to stay warm, gas heater was malfunctioning. The toilets were absolutely putrid and for the rather high price we paid, could have learned from lots by copying Australian National Park toilets

One of the best excursions in Tromso. We were picked up from the Radison Blue hotel and driven to Sami Camp. There we had the opportunity to feed reindeer and take photos. Finally there was a dinner which had tasted excellent. Unfortunately, the sleigh ride had to be cancelled due to bad snow conditions. (We have received a refund for this) But that wasn't too bad. We saw beautiful northern lights on the spot.

Unfortunately due to weather conditions the sledding part was cancelled and refunded but the up close encounter with the reindeer, the meal and the talk about the Sami culture were excellent. I would definitely recommend.

We were doubtful about this as it is quite expensive, but so glad we did it. The pick up was on time, and everything was excellent when we arrived. The reindeer sledding was a experience, and those organising it really cared about the reindeer. The feeding was fun, and the info about Sami culture was very interesting. Veg and meat soup options both good. And we were lucky enough to see the northern lights from the reindeer sledding. The company also responds quickly and helpfully to emails. Would recommend.

Amazing trip! We got to spend time with the Sami people at their camp, went reindeer sledding and fed the reindeers too! Afterwards we finished off with some lovely reindeer stew and a talk about Sami culture.

Reindeer trip and eat at the Sami hearing their stories. Sami and food was really top, reindeer ride was more of a lap around the field of 10 min.

Fabulous experience with the reindeers, unfortunately for us the snow was blizzard like so we couldn’t do the sledding experience but we fed the animals which was amazing, we had a warm Sami tent to sit in with hot drinks and biscuits on tap. We were offered delicious reindeer stew ( or a vegetarian option) and bread which you could have more if you wanted it, our guide was very experienced and really funny, he gave us a fascinating insight to the Sami culture and way of life, although we didn’t get the sledding ( we were partially refunded for that) it was still a magical evening. Highly recommended Oh a bonus we got an awesome northern lights display, even after the heavy snow fall 😊

The evening was like some of the reviews, a little chaotic at the start with conflicting instructions which delayed our departure. It was too crowded to really enjoy the experience, the instructions and discussion when on the sleigh ride were almost impossible to hear at the back, catching just enough to know instructions were being given. The food was at best ok and not like the advertised food. We would have preferred more of the Sami background with stories from the past and how life is now, the discussion was a little centred on the speaker. Overall the experience was too overpriced and commercialised with too large a group to get a quality experience for what was paid.

Bad weather when we went (ICY roads and meadow; one of the two large buses had trouble on the way home), and although the staff were polite, I felt they resented us for making them take the reindeer out in poor conditions. Quite frankly, the company should've canceled. The experience felt rushed, too (perhaps we got there late due to the ice), and the reindeer pulling our sled was slipping and jerking around on the terrain in a way that scared me for both him AND us. Dinner was lacklustre, the reindeer stew a bit flavorless and sparse, and the presentation on Sami culture, while interesting, was just a sketch--even a caricature--of the culture... I guess I should've expected as much; there isn't time to get into all the history and politics, and the audience is varied enough that sticking to wedding clothes and language probably feels like the safest option. I was disappointed, though.

I had so much fun! Feeding and riding the reindeer was awesome! Felt like Santa haha food was ok bread and cookies were delicious. Learning about the Sami culture was really cool too! My only recommendation is don’t book this as your northern lights excursion. The northern lights tour guides are clear sky chasers. As the reindeer excursion brings you to the reindeer farm exclusively it’s not guaranteed there will be clear skies there. So definitely book a separate tour for northern lights but I think this experience is totally worth it. The reindeer are adorable and the ride was a blast. Hope to return to the Sami’s one day as they were fantastic hosts!
