The best Resort and very unorganized Sunwing/Westjet airline

5.00Good Day Folks! We had amazing family vacation in Riu Palace Tropical Bay in Nigril, Jamaica.All grounds and activity, personal, entertainment and food is the best. Beach and water is great, 10 out of 10 Mr. Amazing from entertainment team is awesome. Management Julian, Claudia, and Miguel are very nice and friendly with tourists. But....... Please be aware of this Package operated by Sunwing and flight with Westjet . Local Sunwing representative is useless. Her name is Antoinette. Her goal just to sell a trips and excursion . Our flight was cancelled the day before we were supposed to leave and she was not doing her job by telling us to call Westjet and sort it out ourselves. Westjet was not helpful either and telling us to contact Sunwing; very back and forth and no one wanted to take responsibility in this situation. The best way to get to this resort would to be using an American airline. We don't plan to buy a vacation package with Sunwing again. Other than that, the vacation was great and best wishes for 2023!

5.00The palace has upt its game since the last time we stayed there , the staff are second to none shout out to marleen behind the bar fabulous bar person and a lovley soul .

5.00The beach is one of the best we have encountered in our many travels and many resorts. The rooms have sea views and are clean and updated. Meals were excellent with well-cooked and served options. Friendly staff. The trip from Montego Bay was better for the private transport (I have used the bus in a previous experience and it takes a long time -- longer depending on the time of day). Restaurants have no reservations which is a problem as lineups are a pain, often with disappointment, and could be easily remedied with reservations. That said, the sushi at Hakuchi was really tasty. Rimini was excellent; the food was great. Chef Makenzie cooked lamb perfectly and he was very humble and appreciative. Then there was Karen. She is the manager? Fantastic person and has excellent management skills. She made us welcome and took the time to make our evening special.
