What To Expect
Pickup Meeting at the cruise port or your hotel at the scheduled time. Private transportation allows for flexible pacing. Time: 10–15 minutes Stop 1: Monkey and Sloth Sanctuary Guided visit to observe monkeys, sloths, and tropical birds in a natural and respectful environment. Time: 45–60 minutes Transfer to West Bay Beach Scenic drive across the island to West Bay Beach. Time: 25–30 minutes Stop 2: West Bay Beach Break Relax on white sand, swim in crystal-clear waters, or enjoy the beach club. Beach loungers are included, and food and drinks are available for purchase. Time: 2–3 hours Return to Port or Hotel Comfortable return with plenty of time before ship departure or scheduled plans. 5.00If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Tevin was our tour guide for the day and he made our Spring Break Senior Trip so special. We felt like VIP’s the entire day!! Our day consisted of the Sloth & Monkey Sanctuary, Snorkeling, and some Beach time. I have never done an excursion that wasn’t through the Cruise Ship, but a friend recommended them. They were cheaper than the Cruise Line, so I booked it. I will book with them EVERY time I go to Roatan now! It was that amazing!! Tevin honestly felt like family from the very beginning! My mother who has a difficult time walking long distances went with us. We took her wheelchair so that she wouldn’t get so tired and Tevin pushed her around and made sure that she got the full experience of everything too. Thank you to Johan and Tevin for making an unforgettable experience for us!

5.00Thanks so much to Tristan and Roatan Family tours! We had a fab day zip lining through the forest canopy. Then meeting the monkeys, birds and sloths. And finally rounded off with a gorgeous beach stop. The water was beautiful and the sand perfect. Dropped off in plenty of time! Thanks so much! The Millars!

5.00Very professional, extremely personable and super down to earth group! They really make you feel like family and like your experience with them truly matters. The communication with their clients is very impressive and timely. We had one small hiccup with one of our bookings at no fault of this company's but these guys made sure it happened for us (esp for my 7 year old) and also added in some other cultural experiences in the meantime while waiting for the next excursion. Highly recommend them if you are planning to visit the area!

5.00We had a fantastic experience with Cid! The communication before the cruise was great and had no trouble find our tour guide. We were picked up in a van ( family of 6) and dropped off at the Sloth Sanctuary and the zipline experience and picked up promptly to end our day at a private beach club. When we arrived to the beach club all the chairs were taken but Sid acted quickly found us chairs and umbrellas. We are so glad we booked with Roatan Family tours and would not hesitate to recommend!

5.00Excellent day with the sloths ,macaws and zip lining for the whole family of 10 from two years old to 69 !! they were great! stayed with us the whole time stop by a local grocery store for us to pick up snacks and drinks to take to the beach. Pick us up from the beach got us back to the boat on time! Excellent highly recommend

5.00Our guide was Justin. He was cool, laid back and low key. It felt like riding around the island with a cousin. He was very knowledgeable, open to answering all of our questions about history, the neighborhoods, schools, languages, you name it! The two main stops were the animal sanctuary and west bay beach. We had a blast at the animal sanctuary taking pics with monkeys, sloths, macaws and some local flora and fauna. The animals were so lively and full of personality. The gift shop was a treat with local pastries (the pineapple upside down cake was delish) and coffee. The amenities at Weat Bay beach were nice. Beach chairs included. Access to facilities, bars, restaurants and shops. The beach was more crowded than anticipated but not overwhelming. Everyone was friendly and respectful of space. I also appreciated that the vendors were not super pushy. All in all the experience was 10/10 with Justin being the perfect guide for us.

5.00Both for our airport pickup and dropoff and for our day trip (checking out sloths + monkeys, snorkeling on the coast, and touring the mangroves), every detail was considered and we had the most incredible time. Johan and Ernesto are born and raised in Roatan and they were kind, knowledgeable, and friendly. Our family of four had great chats with them while being driven to and from our destinations, and learned so much about the island from them. Prices were very fair relative to our wonderful experience. We highly recommend RFT to anyone spending time on Roatan.

5.00JJ is the best tour guide we have ever had. This was our 2nd time on the island and we choose Roatan because of JJ. Next year we are planning a week long trip to Roatan and plan to be with JJ the entire trip.Roatan is lucky to have him.

5.00You have a bit of an uphill walk to get to the meeting point if traveling via Cruise ship, but once you make it to the meeting point it’s smooth sailing from there. Johan was amazing and he met us with a very nice, large, air conditioned van/bus. He showed us all around the island sharing so much information and answering any and all the questions we had. We visited Daniel Johnson’s Monkey and Sloth hang out and the tour guides there were so friendly and amazing as well. We LOVED playing with the monkeys and Ringo Star the fastest sloth in the world was cracking us up. Afterwards we toured the island some more and went over to West Bay Beach. We visited San Simon Beach Club and it was top notch. West Bay beach was gorgeous with clear waters and absolutely NO seaweed (March visit) Johan was there waiting for us when we had told him we thought we would be ready to head back to the cruise ship. We took yet another direction back to the port and saw even more of the island learning more all along the way. Johan was so friendly and so knowledgeable. We felt so comfortable with with. We were well taken care of all day long. This was by far our favorite excursion and we can’t wait to plan another trip to Roatan. We will recommend Johan and Roatan Family Tours to anyone and everyone visiting the area. 10/10, do not miss this excursion!
