Operated by The Original Aurora Hunters®, Arctic GM is a family-run company with roots in Lapland dating back to the 1600s, combining generations of local knowledge with continuous Aurora and weather tracking.
Your guide continuously adapts the plan throughout the night, with the flexibility to travel long distances and even cross into neighboring countries when conditions require — all to maximize your chances of clear skies.
Supported by real-time updates from Arctic GM’s large team across Lapland, this approach focuses entirely on finding the best possible conditions, rather than following a fixed schedule.
Throughout the experience, your guide also acts as your personal photographer, capturing high-quality images of your private night under the Northern Lights.

What To Expect
Rovaniemi
Begin your experience with pickup from your accommodation in Rovaniemi and depart in a private vehicle with your dedicated guide. This is a true Northern Lights hunt with no fixed route or time limit. Your guide continuously adapts the plan based on real-time weather and Aurora forecasts, traveling long distances in search of clear skies — including crossing into Sweden when conditions require. You may visit multiple locations during the night, moving as needed to stay under the best possible conditions, far from light pollution. Your guide also acts as your personal photographer, helping you capture high-quality images throughout the experience. Hot drinks and light snacks are provided. Return to your accommodation after the hunt.

5.00Such a fantastic tour! We were picked up from our hotel on time and driven 2 hrs west near the border of Sweden to where we could see the lights. It was a clear night and the lights were on full display! Our tour guide Jade was also a great photographer and took some good photos for us to capture the moment! I would highly recommend this tour.

5.00Once in a lifetime experience which I will definitely repeat in the future. Totally recommended. Yes it is true they go all the way until they make sure they find the optimal spot for people to be able to see Aurora Borealis. In my case Gabriel drove up to Sweden and back. Gabriel was our guide expert on hunting Aurora and an excellent photographer who made sure that would capture for all of us that unique moment on a high quality image. Gabriel came and collected each one of us from our accomodation he made sure we were warm safe and comfortable in his small bus.He gave us warm clothes and warm drink.He shared his enthusiasm and knowledge with us.He cooperated with his colleagues to spot exactly where the Northern lights would be visible.It was a team effort and a very interesting night.No limits as of how far we would go and return time as well. 5.00We did the Northern Lights tour from Levi with our little one, who is only 5 years old, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. Despite covering many kilometres, the car was comfortable and cosy, and Daria was incredibly helpful, attentive, and always ready to take care of our every need. A truly unforgettable night — Grazie mille di cuore! La nostra prima aurora grazie a voi è stata magica ♥️

5.00Our guide Gabriel exceeded all our expectations. He put in incredible effort and truly made our day unforgettable. If you have the chance, definitely request Gabriel as your guide. We left Rovaniemi around 18:30 and even crossed the Swedish border while chasing clear skies. At one point we saw the Northern Lights and thought the tour was over - but Gabriel kept searching and found another spot where we were completely alone. What followed was an amazing aurora show. At first we were very unlucky, but later everything turned perfect. We were exhausted and assumed we would head back, yet Gabriel continued taking us to better locations. We finally arrived home around 04:30 in the morning, tired but extremely happy. It was an unforgettable experience.

5.00The Northern Lights excursion was absolutely fantastic: we had the most spectacular night of our lives! It was all made possible by our wonderful guide, Gabriel: besides being incredibly skilled at taking you to the most beautiful spots to admire the Northern Lights, he has exceptional expertise and energy in his work. He loves his job, and this makes everything even more beautiful and engaging. And, if that weren't enough, Gabriel is also a fantastic photographer! Well done!
