This is not a standard Northern Lights tour — it is a fully private Aurora hunt with no fixed route, no time limits, and no restrictions on distance.
Operated by The Original Aurora Hunters®, Arctic GM is a family-run company with roots in Lapland dating back to the 1600s, combining generations of local knowledge with continuous Aurora and weather tracking.
Your guide continuously adapts the plan throughout the night, with the flexibility to travel long distances and even cross into neighboring countries when conditions require — all to maximize your chances of clear skies.
Supported by real-time updates from Arctic GM’s large team across Lapland, this approach focuses entirely on finding the best possible conditions, rather than following a fixed schedule.
Throughout the experience, your guide also acts as your personal photographer, capturing high-quality images of your private night under the Northern Lights.

What To Expect
Rovaniemi
Begin your experience with pickup from your accommodation in Rovaniemi and depart in a private vehicle with your dedicated guide. This is a true Northern Lights hunt with no fixed route or time limit. Your guide continuously adapts the plan based on real-time weather and Aurora forecasts, traveling long distances in search of clear skies — including crossing into Sweden when conditions require. You may visit multiple locations during the night, moving as needed to stay under the best possible conditions, far from light pollution. Your guide also acts as your personal photographer, helping you capture high-quality images throughout the experience. Hot drinks and light snacks are provided. Return to your accommodation after the hunt.

5.00We did the Northern Lights tour from Levi with our little one, who is only 5 years old, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. Despite covering many kilometres, the car was comfortable and cosy, and Daria was incredibly helpful, attentive, and always ready to take care of our every need. A truly unforgettable night — Grazie mille di cuore! La nostra prima aurora grazie a voi è stata magica ♥️

5.00Our guide Gabriel exceeded all our expectations. He put in incredible effort and truly made our day unforgettable. If you have the chance, definitely request Gabriel as your guide. We left Rovaniemi around 18:30 and even crossed the Swedish border while chasing clear skies. At one point we saw the Northern Lights and thought the tour was over - but Gabriel kept searching and found another spot where we were completely alone. What followed was an amazing aurora show. At first we were very unlucky, but later everything turned perfect. We were exhausted and assumed we would head back, yet Gabriel continued taking us to better locations. We finally arrived home around 04:30 in the morning, tired but extremely happy. It was an unforgettable experience.

5.00The Northern Lights excursion was absolutely fantastic: we had the most spectacular night of our lives! It was all made possible by our wonderful guide, Gabriel: besides being incredibly skilled at taking you to the most beautiful spots to admire the Northern Lights, he has exceptional expertise and energy in his work. He loves his job, and this makes everything even more beautiful and engaging. And, if that weren't enough, Gabriel is also a fantastic photographer! Well done!

5.00This was all so well and professionally organised. I was picked up and dropped off directly from my accommodation. There were just 8 of us and the driver/guide in the minibus. She was very informative and we did actually hunt the lights! Our first stop was negative so we set off again, stopped an hour later and there they were. Without the direction of the guide, I wouldn't have known where to look at first. Then suddenly we were surrounded with lights coming from every direction. My phone camera is rubbish but our guide had professional camera equipment and made sure we were all captured on film with the lights. The photos were emailed to us all. This was included in the cost of the tour. A bonus was seeing a troupe of reindeer running along the side of the road near the minibus.

1.00Terrible! We purchased a private tour for the Northern Lights with a private bus and up to 8 hour/200km radius from Rovaniemi. We were at the meeting point as per tour booking (Get Your Guide) but they never showed up. After waiting we started calling, sending whatsapp messages with no reply. The Office was closed! We called then Get Your Guide that were also unable to contact them. The next day they claimed they were there and waited for 10 minutes and then left since we did not show up!!! They also did not want to reimburse anything, and so they kept lying for a few days. After we provided our Uber receipt showing the location and the time to Get Your Guide, Then Get Your Guide reimbursed us, but Artic GM were absolutely dishonest, a scam! I strongly recommend to choose another provider as there are many available. We could not see the lights because of their dishonesty. We believe that since it was cloudy, they didn’t want the trouble to drive us far and just try to steal from us the money.

5.00Friendly and well informed staff. The car was comfy. We got a lot of time to enjoy the auroras. The hot beverages after looking at auroras were really nice.
