Potamon Dam
The lake of Potami is shaped by the Potami dam, in Amari province and was built in 2008, 25km south of Rethymnon. The lake has a capacity of 23 million cubic meters and is one of the most important wetlands in the southeast Mediterranean, with many species of birds and animals being recorded in the area.

5.00Really enjoyed our day out with Jason our driver guide who showed great driving skills and care to his clients. Very knowledgeable about the history and culture of the island and gave us lots of interesting facts. We got to see about 30 Griffin vultures soaring quite near to us. The trip took us through beautiful scenery and villages with stops and included the option to swim from Prevali beach and a fantastic lunch. Highly recommend this.

5.00This was so much fun! Our driver, Sotiris, was knowledgeable and friendly. His driving was safe despite the crazy drivers here. Loved the off road adventure. Will do this again next time I’m in Crete.

5.00My husband and I took this tour on May 14, 1926, and we were completely satisfied. Everything went excellently, from the punctual pickup to a very interesting and impressive day, all the way to our return to the hotel. Christos, our guide, was extremely courteous, knowledgeable, and entertaining in a very pleasant manner. He explained both the herbs along the way and the individual stops of the tour, and he was always open to questions. One could purchase olive oil, honey, etc. directly from the producer, but there was never any pressure. The included meals and samples were very delicious. Especially the group size of, in our case, 7 people was very pleasant. In particular, during the off-road sections as well as otherwise, we felt completely safe being driven. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks for a truly wonderful, eventful day!!!

5.00This was a great beautiful day. Very friendly Flemish speaking guide. He showed us the beautiful rugged mountains of central Crete , with tasting local products and an extensive delicious Greek lunch along the way . Just a stop in a small village. Highly recommended if you love nature.

5.00Friendly tour with our driver and francophone guide Gregory (super friendly 😉) aboard a beautiful Land Rover Defender 110. Perfect to discover the Cretan hinterland. The panoramas are very beautiful and the beach of Prévéli atypical (and is deserved with a good pair of shoes and good calves). Cretan lunch is good (Tzatziki is excellent). Good day outside the hotel!
