Join me, Sajeeva, and my wife, Suzy, as we guide you through traditional Sri Lankan cooking methods in a fun, hands-on environment. Whether you're a cooking novice or a food enthusiast, you'll discover the secrets of Sri Lankan spices, their origins, benefits, and how to use them. During the class, you’ll prepare delicious dishes such as seasonal vegetable curries, coconut sambol, and either a chicken or fish curry. Afterward, enjoy the meal you created.....

5.00Sajee and Suzys class was amazing. I wasnt expecting to be the only student, but Suzy told me I was the best student of the class! Sajee and Suzy are a delight, warm, welcoming, detailed and fun hosts. Sajee is masterful with his descriptions of how the spices and ingredients work (or dont work ) together along with everything else along the way. Suzy has a watchful eye over the whole process so dont do it wrong (ha!) There is so much food after, but every dish was delicious. Thanka to them, my wife will be happy that I can contribute in the kitchen now!! I opted to attend their class over my tour company recommendatuon based on the reviews and Im glad I did to get a more personal experience. Highly recommended. Thanks Sajee and Suzy!!!

5.00Wow, what a lovely experience. This is genuinely one of the highlights of my Sri Lanka trip. I was hoping for something authentic and hands-on, and Sajee & his wife Susie really delivered exactly that. The class was engaging, fun, and packed with so much knowledge about Sri Lankan spices, ingredients and cooking techniques. They were incredibly welcoming and generous with their knowledge. Everything we made was absolutely delicious, and I left with recipes I’m can’t wait to recreate at home. I came away with a full belly, some great memories & a much deeper appreciation for Sri Lankan cuisine. I couldn’t recommend this experience more to anyone visiting Sigiriya. Thankyou!

5.00Absolutely amazing experience. Sajee and his wife Suzie are experts in the kitchen and explained everything so well. We made three amazing veggie curries, a stir fry, and a chicken curry, as well as rice and papadams. It was delicious. Definitely a must do experience in Sigiriya!

5.00We were coming to the end of our 2 week holiday in Sri Lanka, where we just loved the Sri Lankan food, so we thought a cooking class with a local cooking school would be fun. Our group of 4 absolutely loved this class, Sajee and his wife were fantastic. The flavours and his teaching us how to use them was brilliant. Without a doubt the best food experience we have had in Sri Lanka and we have had many great ones! I can’t recommend Sajee’s school highly enough.

5.00Such an amazing cooking class. We booked through ‘get your guide’ but you can book directly through their website or instagram it’s a bit cheaper. The food was the best I have eaten since being here and would 100% recommend. Also if you need a tuk tuk while in the area +94 (77) 969 2723

5.00We had this cooking class in March 2026 and what a great experience. We had a hands on experience cooking authentic Sri Lankan curries. We were guided through the different spices and when and where to use them. Then we ended up cooking some great curries, we had never had a beetroot or pumpkin curry. And since arriving back to Australia we were able to copy the flavour and textures of these curries and others too. If you want to do a cooking class don't look any further this is the only one to do! Thank you again Sujeewa and Suzy.

5.00What an incredible, authentic Sri Lankan cooking experience. Sajee & Suzy are talented & wonderful teachers who are so passionate about sharing Sri Lankan cuisine. Welcoming of all levels of experience, they go through every step clearly & simply. Including traditional cooking styles & knowledge, with adaptations of how to apply it when you get back to your country. And after this class, you will most definitely want to cook this food again when your home!! You are in good hands, and well supported throughout, while also being very hands on so you can feel it, smell it, learn it as you go. We were all blown away by what we created, and sitting down to eat together afterwards was such a great way to end it. We created 7 dishes plus 2 sides, from scratch. The outside kitchen is so beautiful, we saw wildlife run past as we chopped & washed rice. Sajee kept us all well hydrated, and there was Lots of laughter & fun, and all questions were encouraged. I honestly cannot rave about this enough. Sajee’s place is an absolute must for everyone in or near Sigiriya, novice or expert, everyone will get so much out of this experience 🙏

5.00Fantastic cooking class! One of the best I have ever been too! So many dishes as well! Sajee and his wife were passionate about cooking and personal with their experiences. Met some lovely people on the course too. 5* a must do in Sri Lanka! Beautiful food and great that the recipes are sent on after!
