As recommended by The Daily Telegraph; Take a magical trip to the Lycian civilization of ages ago in Tlos which is known with the mythological figure of the flying horse Pegasus. We will have our lunch in a restaurant which is settled among the trees and flowing cold water. Later visiting Saklikent with the largest gorge in this region where you may jump into the freezing mountain waters if you wish. The walk up the gorge is highly recommended or you may relax and wait on the special wooden pedastals submerged in the waters of the hidden gorge. A peaceful relaxing day out.

We pick you up from your hotel by bus between 08:15-09:00 in the morning and our tour begins.
Saklikent Milli Parki
The view of Saklıkent Canyon, the first stop of our tour, will fascinate you. Words are not enough to describe this extraordinary natural phenomenon; Saklıkent manages to amaze even those who have visited this place before. The 13-kilometer Saklıkent Canyon, which was formed by melting snow on the peaks of Akdağ and heavy rainfall for thousands of years, is actually a relatively young geological formation. You can go as far as you dare in the canyon, or sit back on the riverside platforms and watch the view. Please wear Sensible/comfortable walking shoes. Take your swimwear and towels with you. Waterproof jacket (recommended in low season)

4.00The only reason this didn’t get a 5 was lunch - fish was so overcooked only half of it came off the bone. Anyway - the trip was brilliant. Jesus the guide was very knowledgeable and funny. The trip was in a different order to the itinerary and was better for it. It meant we visited Tlos first (amazing) and then Saklikent in the afternoon - much better for those of us doing the rafting (only 500tl to get a large raft ring and paddle/spin down the river). Bring a towel and a change - there are changing rooms and stuff can be left on the bus. Also bring water shoes for the gorge walking - they can be bought there. Don’t wear sliders or crocs - they come off to easily and we saw several floating away! You can also do zip line for 500tl. All in all a highly recommended day out.

5.00This was a good tour. Guide was excellent. Watch out for tic bites at Tlos as you are walking through long grass. I had to go to the hospital to get antibiotics to prevent Lyme disease.

3.00First thing to say is do not book this tour through this page! Everyone else who booked direct paid €22 and Viator are charging more than double that which is unacceptable. The entrance fees are not included so I’m unsure what the added surplus is for, other than greed. The guide was lovely, so this review is purely on the logistics. Bus was way too hot on way back, no aircon, lunch was fine (nothing special!) but female toilets there unusable due to faeces all over the floor. Drinks not included, no activities included. It was a chilled and lovely day but I’ve walked away knowing we were totally ripped off. Don’t book this tour but definitely go to the places on it. Thank you to our guide.

5.00Take surf shoes for walking down river into gorge (you can buy plastic ones there). The gorge is amazing 👏 You can walk most of it dry bed this time of year but first bit is a bit tricky walking down over the rocks into the river. Plenty of other things going on for extra, zipwire is a buzz or inflatable down river is great, but the walking is awesome 👌

5.00Interesting visit to the ancient city but the highlight of the day was the walk along the gorge. Definitely needed wet shoes (which we had) and our tour guide insisted on us wearing hard hats too because of loose rocks. Loved walking through the water and scrambling up the rapids. We were left to walk at our own pace and the further upstream we got the less people there were. A unique experience that was worth the time travelling on the hot coach.
Varied and packed the content in.

5.00Very efficient tour with so much variety. At the gorge, we paid to go ‘rafting’ (it’s more ‘tubing with a paddle’ and it’s on the river after it leaves the gorge) which was great fun! Recommend it! The gorge is amazing. Take water shoes or walking sandals if you have them. Lunch was in a hillside local restaurant where they farm trout. Choose trout from the menu if you like fish at all. Lovely lunch no matter what you order. Tlos ruins are not spectacular compared to some but the history there is amazing. Not too hot in October either. Good value for money trip. Just remember to take cash for entrance fees (for rafting you can use a card/phone). Shout out to our guide Emre for incessant happiness! 😁

5.00I attended this day trip solo and it was a really great experience. The tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable about Saklikent, Tlos and Turkey in general. We first stopped at a Turkish Delighr factory which wasn’t in the itinerary but it was a welcome addition. Upon approaching Saklikent gorge, the tour guide mentioned 2 activities we can try: zip lining or river rafting. I chose river rafting and it was my first experience trying it, it was so unique and the beautiful views seen whilst paddling away was something I cannot compare to; I had never seen fresh water in Aquamarine colour before. We had 2 hours to explore Saklikent park and make our way up to 500m. Then there was lunch in a restaurant mountain, the food was nice and a unique experience seeing the difference of city v mountain life. There was a short drive to Tlos ancient city which involved the tour guide talking about the history: Greeks, Romans and Ottomans - and how the city had changed with each civilisation adding something to it. Overall this was an enjoyable day with nice food, beautiful views and additions to the itinerary which were welcomed. I would be sure to try out this activity again in the future.

5.00Saklikent Gorge was fantastic and Mehmet was an excellent host. He brought the day to life with lots on interesting facts about Saklikent and Tlos and well as lots of fascinating titbits about Turkish customs and Turkish life. We had a great time on this trip!
