This 2-day group excursion includes a visit to the most important tourist spots in the Province of Jujuy. (Pueblo de Purmamarca - Cerro de 7 Colores - Cuesta de Lipan- Salinas Grandes - Paseo de los Colorados - Pueblo de Humahuaca), offering passengers the possibility of spending one night (or more) in the beautiful and charming town of Purmamarca, which is an icon of the Quebrada de Humahuaca (World Heritage Site).

What To Expect
Salta - Salinas Grandes - Purmamarca
Salta
We will start the service with the search of the passengers for their Accommodations or Hotels between 7:00 & 7:45 am. It is important to know that the search for accommodation will be carried out within a radius of 20 blocks around the Main Square of the City of Salta "9 de Julio".
Purmamarca
The First Stop on Day 1 is in the town of Purmamarca (Jujuy), where we will stop at a Mirador del Cerro de 7 Colores located at the entrance of the town.
Cuesta de Lipan
Having made the technical stop at the Mirador del Cerro de 7 Colores in Purmamarca, we will continue on Route 52 and begin the ascent through the incredible Cuesta de Lipan, whose highest point reaches 4720 meters above sea level. During this section we will make some stops to appreciate the majestic view of the landscape and take pictures.
Salinas Grandes
Here passengers can visit the beautiful Salinas Grandes. Currently, in order to visit the Salar, passengers must pay a small contribution to an aboriginal community settled in the place. There is also the possibility of visiting the 'Piletones' and the 'Ojo de Mar' located 3 km within the Salinas Grandes. In case of making this optional visit, a contribution must also be paid to the aboriginal community. It is important to know that in order to visit the Piletones and the Ojo de Mar, all passengers in the group must agree.
Purmamarca
After visiting the Salinas Grandes we will return to the town of Purmamarca where passengers will have 1 hour free time to visit the town of Purmamarca, as well as 1 hour free for lunch.
Paseo de los Colorados
In this case, the passengers together with the guide will approach the main entrance of the Paseo de los Colorados, located at the back of the Cerro de los 7 Colores.
The Hill of Seven Colors
At this point, being in the town of Purmamarca, passengers will have the opportunity to visit the Cerro de 7 Colores. They could even ascend to the Mirador del Cerro located within the town of Purmamarca.
Purmamarca
Having finished the schedule of Lunch and Visit to the Town of Purmamarca, around 4:30 p.m. the passengers will be released until the morning of the next day.

Free Time for Lunch - Visit for the Town
Purmamarca
On the morning of the second day, we will pick up the passengers in the town of Purmamarca between 10:30 and 11:30 am to continue the tour.
Quebrada de Humahuaca
Near lunch time we will arrive at the Town of Humahuaca, where passengers will have 1 hour free to tour the Town of Humahuaca, as well as 1 hour free for lunch.
Tilcara
After lunch we will leave the Town of Humahuaca bound for the Town of Tilcara, where we will visit the Main Square of the Town and its surroundings by vehicle.
Paleta Del Pintor
On the way back we will make a stop on the route at a viewpoint of the Cerro 'Paleta del Pintor', Cerro Multicolor located in the town of Maimara.
Uquia
Another of the stops on the tour is a visit to the Church of Uquia, inside which are the beautiful paintings of 'Los Angeles Arcabuceros'. It is important to know that the visit to this Church depends on whether it is open or not.
Salta
Once the tour of the Quebrada de Humahuaca is finished, we will start our way back to the City of Salta, arriving at approximately 8:30 p.m.

Unbelievable place, Purmamarca also unfortunately the tour in two days are handled by different agencies the guide of the day 1 did not answer my questions, nor was he aware of my departure the next day from Purmamarca. TIAMOR agency does not respond in a timely manner. On the day of the departure from Purmamarca they did not communicate early to inform me of the departure time , they called me about the weather and I was not ready and due to the lack of prior information I decided not to do the second day and stay in Purmamarca. The agency did not reimburse me and it was very unpleasant when I told them about my inconveniences. Unfortunate because the places are beautiful. The truth between agencies is derived passengers and it is difficult to obtain prior information. I do not advise taking the two-day tour. I advise to get to Purmamarca and from there hire the salt pans. It's better to go straight through the agencies, I really liked Nordic. DO NOT HIRE WITH TIAMOR are unpleasant and do not give information Advice to contract with agencies directly and not go through platforms like this that are not agencies directly. I knew my agency was TIAMOR (lousy, not responding in a timely manner) and the guide who contacted me was contracted to another agency ZAINO. So there is a lot of uncoordination because the passengers are exchanged and the guides are lost. She didn't have my information on her spreadsheet.
Overnight in Purmamarca is totally worth it

5.00Guides super kind and welcoming. It is truly 2 different tours in 2 days with different groups, but each one is worth it and the best way to see a lot in little time. The sites are wonderful, pics don't do them justice. Staying overnight in Purmamarca made a huge difference. There are several good options to stay at, and then you simply coordinate via WhatsApp to get picked up with the next tour the following morning at the bus station. You then get to spend more time in this magical time, instead of rushing back and forth. Do the local trek, have a couple of nice meals accompanied by live music. Sleep in, enjoy the views at different times of day, with different light, which makes a difference. And be back in salta day 2 in the evening.

4.00The tour was great! tour guides were knowledgeable and they gave us enough time during stops to enjoy the landscapes 😊 they also took pics for us. I recommend Tiamar for tours! I minus one star because they switched the day itinerary and didn’t let us know in advance

With this company, the tour guide and bus driver are one and the same person to save costs. Apparently they have to complete the tours in far too short a time. This means that the bus driver tour guides become fast drivers here. On this "first tour to Jujui" cars were often heroically overtaken. In the mountains, serpentines are approached quickly without first reducing the speed. At times my wife and I felt quite uncomfortable during the journey.
Overall good experience but guides have very varying level of English

5.00Beautiful landscapes! It was very windy in July, so you should dress warmly. Maybe the enjoyment is priceless, you have to be encouraged.

3.00You have to know that the tour is actually two day tours, so the planning was a disaster. Our guide on the first day didn't know that our tour was two days and had to clarify that first. We also did the tour the wrong way round and didn't get to Purmamarca until 6pm on the first day and didn't have enough time to see everything there. We then stayed far too long on the second day. Our guides on both days were great, and it's only because of them that we get 3 stars. Otherwise, the organization of the tour for 2 days was just a disaster

5.00A long day but well worth it as the Salinas Grandes is unbelievable and the journey to and from Salta is amazing with all the beautiful scenery and the winding route through the hills. The town of Purmamarca is a nice market town full of bargains and delicious food, so overall a brilliant day and I would highly recommend it.

5.00Salinas grandes for the pics of course. But the best was staying overnight and going to a bar which has a really vibrant music scene. All sorts for all tastes.
