I booked the San Diego Safari Park tickets through Viator. About three days before the event, I received an email saying my tickets were ready, but when I clicked the email link, the tickets were not accessible. I had to contact customer service through the online chat, and they provided me with a working link. After that, everything went smoothly and the tickets worked without any issues for entry. As for the park itself, it was a good experience, but I personally felt it had fewer animals compared to the San Diego Zoo near Balboa Park. The highlights here were the variety of birds, platypus, kangaroos, and many African animals. The tram ride was interesting, but it stayed quite far from the animals, so most of the time we could only view them from a distance. Overall, Viator customer service resolved the ticket issue quickly, and the visit itself was smooth.

Save time by buying tickets before you arrive - skip the line and go straight to the gate. It does not get any better than that!

For some reason, the silly application is not taking my review. This is the fifth time I’ve checked into this to review it. The zoo is nice clean well kept too expensive and not affordable for people on a budget. The weather was great.

Great experience with the family. There’s a lot of walking but plenty of places with shade and sprinklers to keep you cool.

We really enjoyed the Safari Park, especially the up close with the elephants. That was an amazing new experience. We also saw up close lions and hippos. The volunteers were very well informed and gave us great details about the animals we saw. This is not a caged animal zoo. Every animal is in a "natural habitat" and many can only be viewed taking the safari train, which circles 2 different environments. This a great experience for adults and children.

May want to bring your own healthy drinks and snacks. Elephant viewing was a bust, viewing area is at the far end of the enclosure and they were not viewable all day. New Elephant exhibit opens early March…maybe the new viewing area will address this issue.
