Ilamatepeq volcano´s crater hides in its insides a beautiful turquoise lagoon that no other volcano has in the country, and as the perfect way to finish the day we take you to visit Coatepeque lake for you to enjoy a nice late lunch and take some time to relax ,and why not a little jump into the clear waters of Coatepeque.

What To Expect
This experience is about visiting the Volcanos natural park near Cerro Verde, where you are able to enjoy the nice weather with an awesome view of Santa Ana, Izalco Volcano and Coatepeque lake. Here we will start the hike to Santa Ana volcano, where you are able to see the crater, which has a sulfur lake with a spectacular color, the hike lasts about 4 hours round trip. At the end of the day we stop for a great late lunch at Coatepeque Lake where you can enjoy and relax. Later we will drop you off at your hotel.

5.00Two of us did a private tour to the volcano and lake today with William and Arely and it was a fantastic experience! Both guides were very professional and friendly. They were also a wealth of knowledge about El Salvador and were gracious with our less than perfect Spanish. It was great practice! Our guide Arely took us up the volcano and shared a lot of interesting information and stories with us while we walked. She made sure we got to the crater at a good pace, and led us down off the summit safely when the wind suddenly picked up. It’s obvious that they take safety seriously. Our lunch at the lake was a great way to unwind and chat more with our guides over a nice meal. The view is fantastic and the food was just what we needed after a long hike. 100% would recommend this tour!

5.00Great hike and scenic views along the way, local guide led the way. Unfortunately due to the wind we could not make it to the top as it was closed. Will do it again when we return. Jocelyn and our driver Sondra great job .

5.00We did three tours with William and they were excellent. My favorite was the sanderism on the volcano. William was attentive, friendly, friendly, and very informative. I would recommend William with other tourists because he has empathy and experience at different ages. His charisma and joy makes the day extraordinary. If I go back to El Salvador, I'd do another tour with William.

5.00We spent 3 amazing days in El Salvador. William picked us up from the airport and he was so much fun! We then met our amazing driver Sandra and our excellent guide, Jocelyn. What a duo!! They were punctual, informative, fun to be around, and very flexible with our itinerary needs. We had a great time seeing Tazumal, Santa Ana volcano, exploring Santa Ana city, and doing various activities around El Tunco. We had such a great time and we greatly appreciate them. We can’t wait to go back!

5.00Had a wonderful hike up the Santa Ana volcano with my guide Gerson. He is very knowledgeable of the area and the pace he set for me was perfect. The views at the top are absolutely amazing. The lunch we had afterwards at the Coatepeque Lake was delicious and the view of the lake is beautiful and peaceful. Our driver Jonathan did a great job making sure we got everywhere timely and safely. I highly recommend EC Tours, you won't be disappointed.

5.00We had a great experience in El Salvador with EC tours. We did 3 days with them: Santa Ana Volcano Hike, San Salvador Walking Tour, and the Nawi Beach House. The EC staff was very attentive to messages and booking was very smooth. I also appreciated that you could pay in advance via credit card. We were lucky enough to be paired with Steve for all 3 days (with William as our driver) and we can't say enough not only how knowledgeable he was, but also how passionate about sharing the history of El Salvador he was. He went out of his way to welcome us into his country whether that was through buying garlic bread from his favorite bakery during our walking tour or helping us find some salvadorean coffee to take back home. He was great company and we wish him well on his all his future endeavors. If you book at tour with EC, ask for Steve!

5.0010/10 experience!! The hike was insane and definitely not for beginners. The view was amazing and definitely worth it!! Also loved our tour guide Yesenia!! Her and the driver William helped us find our Airbnb and went above and beyond to make sure we got there safely. Absolutely recommend! Will be booking with EC Tours again! :)))

4.00the driver was considerate and welcoming, considering i was the only person on the trip. do note though that most of the hiking bit is conducted by staff from the country park itself and the agency/tour organizer will not be involved in it. nonetheless id say for someone like me not looking for a multi day volcano trek santa ana was just right the amount of time and exertion required to travel up. for those who are into more difficult hiking you may want something more than this. but for me this volcano lite is good enough

5.00Amazing trip - Gerson our guide was very attentive and full of answer to my many questions about politics, culture and nature. The hike itself is not super difficult so go go go. Having hiked up a few different volcanoes, this is the first one with a sulphur lake and it was beautiful.

5.00Our driver William made us feel very comfortable and safe the entire time all while sharing so much information about the sites and the country. All of my EC tours had prompt drivers there always on time with vehicles with ac. We loved the service so much we added on tours. I cannot recommend them enough! If you need a tour company, you will be very happy to go with them.
