We were new to Bosnia, we’re only able to be in town a few short days before heading to Dubrovnik, traveling as a family of four and wanted a chance to see more of the country rather than just fly over it. The idea of renting a car and driving was considered but the one way fare was so high we thought we’d look into a private transfer and Funky Tours popped up as a top option so we thought we’d give it a go. We are so glad we did. What we got was a 12 hour private tour of some of the most beautiful and diverse landscape and cities steeped in rich and complex and moving stories led by a man who shared his personal history along with the text book history of the region we were passing through. The van we were picked up in was a black Mercedes van with plenty of room for our family and our luggage and it had air conditioning which was useful on a hot day of travel. We never drove more than an hour and some change without a stop and every stop was meaningful. The driver and our guide (who happened to have worked in the UN and war crimes tribunal) took excellent care of us and made sure we had plenty of time to not only learn about a spot but actually spend time building some personal memories there as well. Strongly recommend Funky Tours and will be looking to leverage them again!

I had an amazing 16 day trip through the Balkans. Truly happy I found this treasure of a tour company. Communication was easy, efficient and timely. The office staff team truly go out of their way to make your trip smooth and enjoyable. Alma ( I am so sorry if that’s wrong) was truly amazing… I don’t know how you ever slept!! and Diona and Edna are the gems too. I could not say enough good things about our guide Adnan. Your truth, your honestly, your history, knowledge and expertise made for the most memorable trip! Thank you for keeping us going, keeping us informed and making us laugh with your humour !

Stefan and Mike were awesome, it was a great tour! We were the only ones booked on for the day, so it ended up being effectively a private tour and meant we could be flexible and relaxed with the day. Stefan provided a great amount of information at the stops and good recommendations for a restaurant in Mostar. Overall it was a very enjoyable day!

Great way to shuttle between Dubrovnik and Sarajevo. We visited several beautiful locations along the way. We also got good suggestions on what to do once in Sarajevo from our great guide Stefan. Highly recommend.

This was a great way to see parts of Herzegovina that would be otherwise difficult to see as an individual traveler... as well as transfer from Sarajevo to Dubrovnik. It felt quite a bit rushed at times... i was most excited for Mostar and we had about an hour to see it and were just released on our own. Postelj was a very nice surprise... what a cool village to explore... there was just enough time to walk down the hill. Overall, the day felt pretty jam packed... maybe there are too many sights/stops squeezed in... but it's probably hard to pick one or two stops to eliminate as everyone would have a different opinion. Our guide Adnan was friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend this tour.

I did 5 shared tours with Funky Tours in the course of a week - East Bosnia & West Serbia, Srebrenica, Free Walking tour of Sarajevo, Tunnel of Hope & Siege, transfer tour Sarajevo to Dubrovnik. I can’t speak highly enough of the various guides I met, most within-depth experience of the war or its aftermath. They were happy to answer all the questions either about the war or the country today, and I learned so much. All the tours had 6 clients or fewer, which helped greatly make them an intimate experience. The office staff were extremely polite, responsive and helpful, though it took a while to establish what my choices were as a solo traveller. I think they will only run a tour on a specific date if there are 2 or more confirmed bookings, which is understandable. Funky Tours made my experience of Bosnia very special.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience with Funky Tours. From the very beginning, their pre‑planning support was outstanding —they were responsive, organized, and helped us shape a perfect itinerary for our time in the city. They offered thoughtful suggestions on what to see, how to structure our days, and even provided recommendations for activities we hadn’t considered. Each guide we met was knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely passionate about Sarajevo. What truly set these tours apart was the way they shared first‑hand accounts and personal perspectives on the city’s past. Bosnia and Herzegovina has an undeniably painful and complex history, and the guides approached it with honesty, sensitivity, and deep respect. Their storytelling gave us a much deeper understanding of what the people here have endured and how the city has rebuilt itself with remarkable resilience. We booked multiple experiences with them, including a private transfer, the Tunnel of Hope tour, and a walking tour of the city. Every single one was seamless, informative, and incredibly well executed. It felt like traveling with trusted local friends who wanted to ensure we got the most out of our visit. For anyone considering a trip to Sarajevo: don’t hesitate. The city is safe, welcoming, full of culture, and absolutely worth exploring. Thanks to this tour company, we felt comfortable, informed, and completely at ease the entire time. Highly recommend Funky Tours to anyone visiting Sarajevo—they made our trip meaningful and truly unforgettable.

Funky tours provided a car seat for the baby. The communication with the agency was also perfect over WhatsApp. Alja is a fantastic guide and an awesome driver. She gave a nice go through the history of Bosnia from Ottoman times to the present days. The details of development during Yugoslavia time, the people, the culture, food habits, Partisan Resistance, Tito and the darkest part - the Bosnian War. She suggested places to eat and buy snacks during the trip. The smooth drive through the mountains, valleys and mists was mind blowing. Highly recommended

Great daytrip to Mostar and Sarajevo! Our guide Robert was on time, professional and gave a good overview of the history and culture of Bosnia. We arrived safely at our destination thanks to our driver Muhidin. Once in Sarajevo, we were met by another great guide, Faris. Do not hesitate to book with Funky tours. They are reliable and will make sure that all your needs will be met. Thank you Amela for organising this trip on short notice
