This experience requires a Minimum number of 2 participants, if this is cancelled because minimum is not met then you will be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.
This experience is seldom cancelled due to bad weather, it does not rain here but we have strong desert winds sometime. If it is cancelled due to bad weather, it might be rescheduled to a new time, or another date, or a full refund.
This tour can be upgraded to include Champagne, oysters and Sushi, please advise us of your special occasion or if you want a high end tour.
We reserve the right to change the route, weather or safety permitting.

Please note due to the scarcity of German guides we cannot guarantee a German speaking guide, in peak season or when a cruise liner is in the Harbour and 2000guests disembark.
German speaking guides are very scarce. These will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
please note all Cruise Liner passengers, your tour pick up time starts an hour after you have docked. The tour will depart latest an hour and a half after the pick up time. Late comers are considered a no show

What To Expect
Our journey takes us through Walvis Bay, lagune wetlands where thousands of pink Flamingos can be seen, past the enormous Salt Mine harvesting 100000 tons per month, south along the beach to Sandwich Harbor where the Dune belt meets the sea . See the waves carve away the dunes at high tide where it sometimes becomes impossible to enter this beautiful and remote area. We go on a roller coaster dune ride up to the view point with absolute surprise to see the stunning views and the quiet desert ambiance. The huge sea of sand , the dunes, have that special kind of magic ...absolutely unique. Our knowledgeable guides will tell you about the desert area and skillfully drive you to the best spots. Adrenaline soaked dune drives , searching for animals in this desolate area , learn how the plants and animals have evolved to live in the desert. Absolutely Awesome , all of it. Our Tour takes us through the Ramsar convention Walvisbay lagune wetlands where up to 250 000 and 54 species of birds can be seen from time: Pelicans, Flamingos, Plovers, Sandpipers and other endemic Birds can be seen. We drop our tyre air pressure and discuss the many birds

5.00We did the half-day tour with Volker and it was simply outstanding. The drive through the dunes was a real highlight: Sovereign, safe and incredibly fun at the same time. Volker mastered every passage perfectly and showed us spectacular viewpoints again and again. The combination of sea, dunes, background information and speed was next level. Everything was top notch in terms of organisation: - We were picked up on time. - Good picnic and chilled drinks - The whole process was professional, relaxed and absolutely pleasant. We were particularly impressed by how much experience and background Volker brings. He has already travelled around a lot and was able to tell us not only a lot about Namibia, but also about the neighbouring countries exciting insights and valuable travel tips. We were happy to include every detail. Conclusion: A tour we can really recommend to anyone: Authentic, expert, personal and full of unforgettable moments. We would go back anytime with Volker!

5.00Couldn’t have been a more fun and pleasant tour. Everything was spot on. Beautiful views, great guide (Winton), thrills and chills. We were picked up right on time and driven out to the dunes. Such a fun experience going up and down the dunes, with frequent stops at all the best places to take pictures. Then we had a nice picnic on the beach since it was windy up on the dunes. Winton was such a skillful driver. Always felt like he was in control while he also gave us a thrill ride. He was knowledgeable and had a great personality. Would love to go again if I’m ever back in the area.

5.00Pick up at the cruise terminal. Four people in a 4x4. Andrew Milies best guide and driver ever through the sand dunes. Several stops at the flamingos, pink salt lakes, in the dunes with amazing views, at Sandwich Harbor and finally with a delicious picnic on the beach. As a souvenir small bottle to bring sand. Just in time return to the port

5.00Guide Riaan was an absolutely brilliant host and we had so much fun on this trip. We saw seals, whales, flamingos and then drove on the dunes which was the most incredible once-in-a-lifetime experience. On our trip it was too dangerous to make it all the way to Sandwich Harbour but we got such a stunning view of it from the top of the dunes it made absolutely no difference, and we were grateful to Riaan for not chancing the crumbling sand and waves and putting our safety first. This will without doubt be one of our main takeaways from a wonderful two weeks in Namibia. To top of all off we went via the incredible salt lakes that were made pink by the sun by the time we drove back. He also has great knowledge of Namibian history. We had hired a 4x4 and you could technically deflate your tires to do *some* of this trip (not the dune driving) but we were able to access so much more of the coast by going with a guide than we could have done ourselves.

5.00We were picked up by our guide Winton right in front of our hotel on time at 08:00 today. After some very interesting information about Swakopmund and Walvis Bay during the trip we headed towards Sandwich Harbour. The day we were allowed to spend there was an absolute dream. It is probably one of the most beautiful natural wonders you can admire in the world. Our experience was rounded off by a picnic lunch, a game drive through the delta and a sand boarding session at the end. Winton responded to all our wishes and had an answer to all our questions. We can recommend the tour 100% and would love to experience it again with Winton.

5.00We were with another couple with the best guide Riaan on the way to the Sandwich Habour Tour. Past flamingos, seals, cormorants, jackals and a sea lion along the Atlantic coast into the desert to Sandwich Habour, where saltwater and freshwater are separated only by a narrow strip of land. It was fantastic. Riann drove confidently and masterfully through the challenging terrain and explained everything to us. The picnic amidst the dunes overlooking the Atlantic Ocean incredible! Unrestrictedly recommended! Riaan has patiently waited even for the time-consuming entry control for us. Contact with the organizer before the tour was excellent.
