We booked a private day trip for our group of six. Our tour guide Vess came and picked us up from our hotel and we commenced the drive up to the lift. The hike is moderate to hard depending on your capabilities, but you can stop and rest as you please. Dress for a hike accordingly, solid closed toed shoes, check the weather. Very picturesque and pristine nature. Please do not get in the water!

The 7 Lakes of Rila National Park is a very beautiful place. The views are enchanting. The excursion offers a lot of sensory pleasure. The hiking trail is well passable, but it would be advisable to have hiking shoes that support the ankle. There is a risk of slipping due to loose stones. Our guide Vesselin was a knowledgeable and professional guide. He has in-depth knowledge of Bulgaria and is happy to share it with us. I recommend this tour.

We didn’t realise that you can’t actually see the lakes during the height of winter because they were frozen and had snow over. Due to the extreme cold and severe weather conditions our guide offered us an alternative which was tailored to our requirements.

Doing this experience in December is a cool challenge. The views are amazing and even though we had a windy day we were able to see the beautiful landscape. The guide Velko was so welcoming and he told us a bit of the story of the place and the country. We recommend it a lot!

I received a message from the Guide the day before with all the necessary information. She was punctual in picking us up at the Inn and very friendly on the way. Another person joined us for the hike. A very pleasant and informative day. The combination of hiking/bathing/waterfall is perfect.
