What To Expect

People's Square (Renmin Guang Chang)

Your tour guide will meet you at your hotel at 09:00 a.m.. Then, we will transfer to People’s Square and start the highlight tour. Shanghai People's Square is located at the very center of Shanghai and is the demarcation point of East Nanjing Road and West Nanjing Road. It is a flourishing place for people to look around. Before 1949, the area of Shanghai People’s Square and the People’s Park was used as a famous horse racetrack which was built in 1861, honored as the ‘No.1 Racetrack in Far East’. Visitors still can find the ruins for the former main building standing at the northeast part of the People’s Square. We can see many scenic spots around people's square, such as the new Municipal Government Mansion, Shanghai Museum, Shanghai Grand Theater, Shanghai History Museum and Mu'en Church. Then, we will visit Shanghai History Museum to learn about Shanghai 6000 years civilization.

Shanghai History Museum

Shanghai History Museum is located in People's Square area, it is large Museum of Shanghai local history. Dedicated to the history of Shanghai, the museum houses more than a thousand relics and chronicles 6000 years of history from the region. If you have ever wondered what Old Shanghai was like, you can find the answer at Shanghai History Museum. Divided into two sections – Ancient Shanghai and Modern Shanghai, the museum traces the political, social, economic and cultural evolution of the city from 4000BC to the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949.
