We went on a group tour and Alonzo was great! I think that’s what his characters name was 😬. He had lots of patience with the group and was super mindful. I definitely enjoyed it! Learned a lot. I loved the light he put on women of the past.

So much more fun than I could have imagined! Giacomo is clearly an expert and very passionate about Valletta. He explained a whole lot of history in a short period of time in a way that was engaging and at times, downright hilarious. He doesn't shy from difficult truths, and handles the legacy of the city with respect (if a bit of irreverence at times!) The walking is broken up into bite-sized amounts, and there is a story for every corner. A great mix of significant historical detail and entertainment.

We were joined on our tour by 3 other individuals making 5 in total allowing a very enjoyable conversation to take place as we strolled. The content was fun and gave a different outlook on Vallettas history.

Very enthusiastic tour with lots of in depth information told from a sailors point of view. Small group tour and very professionally presented. A great way to experience what Malta was like centuries ago.

We met Giacomo, who showed up in style in a complete pirate or, as we learned, corsair outfit on time at the meeting point. Before our eyes, Giacomo transformed into his alter ego “Alonso de Contreras”, who takes us on a tour of the evening Valletta into his life as a corsair in the service of the Knights of Malta, and repeatedly connects the turbulent episodes of his life entertainingly and knowledgeably with the history of the island and the locations in the city of Valletta. Almost incidentally, he lets us in on the dark secrets that are not in any guidebook... A great experience that we can only recommend to everyone!!! P.S.: Please note that the tour is conducted in English.
