Chinatown
The experience starts off with an exploration of Chinatown where you will get to soak in the sights of the Chinatown neighbourhood. Stories will be shared of it's history capturing the struggles of early Chinese immigrants, their trials and tribulations of making ends meet in a rough neighbourhood filled with vices like opium, gambling, prostitution, and death. These buildings still stand today. Old images will be shown where you will see the quick transformation of Singapore's development from the past to the present day. We will also be visiting a hawker centre and get to sample locally popular Singapore Chinese street food cuisines, and at the same time experience the local way of life that has been around for the past decades.
Little India
In Little India, you will be brought around the area where the vibrancy of colour from street stalls selling fresh fruit & vegetables, flower garland markets, traditional clothing stores, and incense shops will charm your senses. It is due to these trades and other opportunities that had inspired the early Indian community to move from the original Little India near the old seafront, up here where water buffalos used to roam the swampy area. We will be visiting a hawker market here and get to sample a variety of Pakistani, North Indian & Indian Muslim street food cuisines, and experience the exciting vibrancy of the Indian community having their daily meals here.

This tour took us for feasts to experience the best of Chinatown, Little India and dessert on Arab Street. Gerry has a great sense of humor and kept a smiling and laughing while also educating us on the history of the areas we visited. We actually went back the following day to double dip on some of the places he took us because they were so good. Considering how expensive Singapore is, you'd really pay the tour price for the food alone on your own. So why not cut out the research and be guided to the best of Singapore. 😉 I highly recommend this tour and think a food and city tour should always be the first activities when visiting a new place to learn what foods you like and the blueprint of the city so you can get around on your own. Couldn't imagine there's a better way in Singapore in doing this with Jerry. 🌞

I've done a lot of food tours and this was probably the best one i've ever done. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and down to earth. We ate SO much food. If I came back, I might do the exact same tour again.

Gerry was an excellent guide! We were guided around parts of the city that I wouldn’t have found on my own and introduced to a huge variety of food. I would recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys trying new food and learning about the local culture & history! Arrive with an empty stomach ;)

This tour was an amazing introduction into Singapore, its culture, history, foods and the neighbourhoods. Gerry was an outstanding guide and so knowledgeable. It was a pleasure to spend the day with him and taste our way through Singapore. He also taught me about the MTA and buses so I will be able to utilise these modes of transport for the rest of my trip. Gerry picked me up at my hotel and dropped me back afterwards which made my day so much more enjoyable. It is also his own tour company so he can tailor the day to suit you. I would definitely recommend this to anyone solo travellers or families.

We had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend this tour to others! Gerry did an incredible job of sharing a lot of cultural and culinary information and pictures with us, and answering all our questions. The tour enabled us to try many more dishes than we would have been able to try on our own, which was awesome. We got to sample more than 20 different dishes during the tour. There was more than enough food but it was served family style so it was easy to just eat small portions if one chooses. We were so inspired by Gerry's passion for sharing and preserving Singaporean culture. This tour was definitely a highlight of our trip!
