Sitka
Sitka's Bald Eagle Center operates with bird care professionals assisted by volunteers to rescue birds, provide them with rehabilitative care and hopefully release them back into the wild. After your introduction to the center, a presentation with one of the Center's educational birds will take place. Time will be available to view the flight center, clinic window, outside deck habitat areas and gift shop.
Sitka National Historic Park/Totem Park
Next, you'll visit the Sitka National Historical Park, where the 1804 "Battle of Alaska", was fought. The park hosts totem lined trails, cultural exhibits and carving rooms where native Alaskan artisans demonstrate their totemic art form. Walk the nature trail, view cultural exhibits and video presentation, or talk with local native artists about their cultural art form.

Make sure when you book do not use My Holiday Online. We booked with them, confirmed our cruise ship and location to meet and they never showed up. There were 3 groups at dock that provided same tour and they did not have our booking. Worked with a great guy named Sitka Wildlife tours to help find out tour and he even called Viator to help. In the end we did not get to go on a tour. However I would highly recommend booking direct with sitakwildlifetours.com as they tried to be so helpful!

Alex was a great tour guide, she grew up in Alaska so she knows all about the area and it's attractions. She walked with us and showed us the river where the salmon were running and she went the extra mile walking with us and showing the grandkids where to look for baby crabs and so much more. She also gave some great recommendations on some places to shop or get something to eat. Now as to the scheduling of this tour. I scheduled through Viator but it went through another tour operator out of England and when scheduling your were not given an option to select a time and when I tried to find out what times were available I tried the online chat with no response and was told to call a international phone number. When paying for this tour it was also through an international payor so there was an extra fee charged to my account. I came really close to canceling this tour because of lack of communication and no disclosure of the 3rd party tour company in England. Everything worked out ok but with my group of 11 people it was very unsettling and hard to get things taken care of. Why wasn't this tour booked directly with the SightSee tour company in Sitka, AK (907)738-4123?

It was a bit rushed because of all the other tour groups - we wish we had more time at the attractions

Tour was well organized, guide Christian could inform competently. Particularly impressive was the birds of prey farm, where sick birds are cheered up.

This excursion never happened, there was no communication, no one ever showed up to pick us up…. We actually had to buy another excursion at the proposed pick up location because we had a group of 8 that had high expectations. We will be requesting a full refund for this excursion that never happened. The last minute excursion that we purchased was very expensive and not in everyone’s budget. I do not recommend this service.

Check-In was simple and smooth. The lady at the Centennial Hall was very friendly and kind to our kids. Our tour guide, Gretchen was phenomenal. She was engaging, knowledgeable and down to earth. She presented a lot of information and encouraged/fielded questions from our small group. She even drove us back to the port which was a huge relief because we were concerned about not making it back to the ship before embarkation. Sitka is beautiful and somewhere I’d like to visit again. This tour was the highlight of our cruise to Alaska.

Excellent experience. Great tour guide Mike kept us informed and entertained. There were 6 people in our party, 10 in the whole tour. Initial frustration that we didn’t receive info from the booking company until a few days before. The little Sitka museum in the Visitor Center is worth seeing while you wait for the van.

We had a fantastic driver/guide for our trip! Loved seeing the raptor sanctuary and seeing the majestic birds up close. The Bear sanctuary was fun too. Watching them play and eat was great. Finished it up with a trip to see the salmon running which was awesome and some totem poles. Great trip!
