The National Museum of Anthropology (MNA) is one of the most important museums in Mexico and the Americas. It is designed to house and exhibit the archaeological legacy of the peoples of Mesoamerica, as well as to account for the current ethnic diversity of the country. The current MNA building was built between 1963 and 1964 in the Chapultepec Forest at the instruction of President Adolfo López Mateos, designed by Pedro Ramírez Vázquez and assisted by architects Rafael Mijares and Jorge Campuzano. President Adolfo López Mateos inaugurated it on September 17, 1964. Currently, the NAMA building has 22 permanent exhibition halls, two temporary exhibition halls and three auditoriums. Inside is the National Library of Anthropology and History.

What To Expect
Museo Nacional de Antropologia
Two are the axes that this museum has : on the one hand, anthropology and archaeology, and on the other hand ethnography.The first thematic axis is on the ground floor of the precinct, in which are located 10 rooms that span a period from the population of America to the Postclassical through the different Mesoamerican cultures. They exhibit such important archaeological pieces as the Stone of the Sun, known as the Aztec Calendar. In addition, there is a room dedicated to the cultures of the north, that is, those that belonged to the region of Aridoamerica.On the second floor are the ethnographic rooms in which the worldview, cultural values and daily life of the different ethnic groups that inhabit Mexico are disseminated.

4.00Ultimately trip worked well, day was not busy so security line was short. Ticket is for the entry ticket so ticketing line you can skip. Only issues was that we did not get tickets after booking, only voucher. Later after contacting supplier they send formal entry ticket file

1.00We purchased 4 skip the line tickets for the Anthropology Museum in Mexico City. Only 2 of the four tickets arrived. I sent two emails for help and a refund and I did not receive any response at all. We had to purchase two extra tickets that day at the museum and stand in a line - everything we were trying to avoid. They have NOT responded nor have they refunded the amount owing for the two tickets that never arrived. Terrible service.

1.00I was not able to use my ticket The ticket was already used that was sent to me by email. I had to re purchase a ticket at the museum. I will never use this activity provider again.
Stunning architecture and displays but mostly in Spanish only. A must-see to appreciate Mexico's fascinating history.

4.00The Museum is spectacular and the displays are unique and interesting. The Mayan and Aztec periods are in later sections, which may be of more interest to many visitors. Most exhibits have information only in Spanish. The Museum Wifi with QR codes for English versions was unreliable. So was Google Translate. While I appreciate the philosophy behind having Spanish-only signage, and as someone who speaks Spanish well, I still felt I missed a lot by not having access to more information in English. I should have done more homework in English, ahead of time. I didn't see any audio tours available, but apparently there are some rentable at the museum entrance, if they don't run out. There are also digital and app-based guides.
Waste of time. Don’t do it.

1.00Total scam! There’s no redemption point and we had to wait in line. Once inside no one knew anything about our voucher and we just had to repurchase new tickets. Lots a ton of time and Cost us double.

3.00Even if you buy a ticket online and your email tells you “here is your ticket” it’s lying. It’s not your ticket! Don’t download into your Apple Wallet! It’s NOT your ticket. You’re forced to download their app & get your ticket there. Total waste of time and misleading when you’re trying to gain entrance.
You can’t “skip the security line”…

4.00I agree with some of the other reviewers in that this is worth the trip to Mexico City and the museum quality is what is driving this rating but as far as the "Skip-the-Line" process of the ticket package was a bit misleading ... yes, we could skip the very short ticket-buying line (because we had the ticket, something that happens every time you buy a ticket in advance), but we could not skip the security line outside the museum entrance.
