What To Expect
Hawkes Bay Scenic Tours are one of the oldest established tour companies in Napier.

Join our small Wine Tour group to explore a variety of Hawkes Bay Wines lasting all afternoon - 5.5 hours Learn about the region, how, why, and what Wines are produced in what is regarded as the “Premium Wine Region in New Zealand”. Today you will discover a variety of wines, from 3 very different wineries across the region. You will visit the oldest winery in New Zealand. Here you will learn about the history dating back from the 1830’s in Lyon France. One stop on the day will either be a local brewery or an ale house. Here you can choose three drinks from their range of beers and ciders. These are by the glass full, not small tastings. You will finish the tour with a small souvenir. All tastings, admissions and all drinks advertised are included in the tour price. Larger groups please do enquire.

5.00Was an amazing experience, meeting some lovely people and spending a few hours with Kirsty, she did an amazing job. Was originally disappointed that we didn't get to go to the brewery but all in all was a great time.
Wine and beer tour, missing the beer.

4.00The tour was enjoyable although we purchased a Wine, Beer & Cider tour. Four Wineries was great, but where was the Brewery for the beer and cider? The focus was very much on red wines, which in our case didn't really work. The running commentary from our Guide/Driver seemed a little off somehow, Not matching the audience. And quite difficult to understand.

3.00Each winery stop provided several samples to taste. The 3 wineries we visited were very nice and the last stop for beer/cider was a real treat! The tour providers seemed a bit overwhelmed with the size of the group and all the chatter among the tourists. The snacks at the second winery were actually large cheese boards that were delicious and plentiful! The only drawback for me, was not being able to understand the bus driver’s thick accent.

5.00Our driver was Souk who was knowledgeable about the area and very informative. We were the only ones on the tour so was very personalised. The only negative was the absence of the advertised souvenier.

5.00We had a thoroughly enjoyable day touring a selection of wineries and an ale house. The group consisted of myself and my husband and a family of six. The tour guide, Anil was very knowledgeable about the area even though he was born and brought up in Birmingham. The wine was plentiful and I learnt a lot about the process of wine making. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour.

5.00We had a great day, guided by Anil, tasting great wines, beers, and gins of the region. All the tastings were excellent, our favourites were the Brookfields vineyard and the National Distillery Co. Anil's anecdotes and local knowledge helped to make it a really enjoyable trip. Definitely would recommend

5.00Six of us took a half day tour with John, and we had a fabulous tour. Tastings were at two wineries, one brewery (with bar snacks) and one venue to taste ciders. Our tasting hosts at the wineries were truly fantastic, the relaxed vibe at the brewery was fun, and the live music there was awesome. Spent a good chunk of the arvo chatting with John, he is knowledgeable and a genuinely nice fella. We all really enjoyed our tour with him. Recommended!!
