DIFFICULTY: Medium high. The first hour of the hike is steep and then it becomes flat. Altitude increase of 600 meters. Tour subject to change due to weather conditions (rain or snow).

What To Expect
We will go to the San José de Maipo sector, we will visit the square and then we will go to a clothing rental in case our passengers require it.We will continue the trip accompanying the Maipo river, the most important river in the Santiago basin, until we reach the point where our walk begins. From this point we will begin the trekking with snowshoes, we will have the opportunity to enjoy impressive landscapes covered with snow and refresh our body with fresh air

5.00We had a wonderful snowshoe hike with Raimundo, our guide. He’s an excellent guide, very very knowledgeable about the area and the mountains. He was very patient with our questions, and made sure we were well taken care of. Highly recommend AndoAndes and Raimundo if you are interested in doing outdoor adventures around Santiago.

3.00Scenery was beautiful and comfortable ride/van. They picked a great restaurant to stop at for us to buy lunch. Booked for an English tour. The guide did speak ok English but the rest of the tour was Spanish speaking so they were talked to most of the time. 15 min Spanish, 5 min English.

5.00I highly recommend this experience! It was definitely not something that we could have done on our own. Our guides were so friendly and shared interesting information all throughout the experience. They provided us with everything that we needed to be successful on the snowshoe experience. The views were simply incredible. I also appreciated that the guides purposefully took us to an area where there weren’t other people, so it didn’t feel crowded.

The whole excursion was super interesting, walking through mountain landscapes, accompanied by Sebastian, an expert guide, who also adapted to our walking pace and our interests in bird watching.
