Sticking to our philosophy, all our tours and activities are limited to small groups (maximum of 8 guests per tour) to get the best and most memorable experience of Lapland. We refuse mass tourism, and you will never end up in big groups - even in peak season!

What To Expect
Put on your snowshoes and get ready for a relaxing experience in the wilderness! This tour allows you to feel what it is to head deep into Arctic nature. With your professional guide, you will snowshoe through old forests and along frozen rivers, looking for wildlife and steps left in the snow. During this tour, you will not only learn how to walk on snowshoes but also some basic survival and fire-making skills! No need for matches or lighter, your tour guide will chop wood and show you how to make fire with natural materials found in the nature that surrounds you (this can be done in conditions as cold as -30°C). This tour is perfect for nature lovers and all those who are looking for a relaxing walk. It is also a great opportunity for those of you who are photo enthusiasts, so please bring your cameras along!

Great experience in the snowy wilderness

5.00The snowshoe hike with carry was a great experience. We were a small group with only 5 people and Carry had everything perfectly organized. We hiked about 1 h 45 min through nature. Afterwards, Carry lit a fire in a yurt on which we grilled sausages and bread, along with tea and hot chocolate. An all-round successful excursion!

5.00Excellent day. First time hiking in snowshoes and our guides gave us a good challenging path with spectacular scenery. To end it off the Yurt fire and BBQ was great. Absolutely loved this outing it was perfect.

5.00Anna (or Ana?) is a very gracious and passionate guide. She really knows her stuff about outdoors (wildlife, hiking and being out in the wild). It was a good cardio leg workout :) Wild about Lapland was very accommodating of our request to change pick up and drop off locations

5.00Beautiful nature walk in the forest with our guide Atanas, he was kind and attentive. Very professional he provided us with many explanations about the environment and answered all our questions with great precision. We ended our hike at a quiet pace around a barbecue in a friendly atmosphere, a beautiful experience and a beautiful meeting. Very good memory. I recommend 100%.

5.00Absolutely amazing! Belencita was an amazing tour guide. She showed us how to use the snowshoe, took care of everyone’s speed, showed us how to light fire and got some sausages and hot drinks. She was really energetic and keen to help us get the entire experience. We just felt may be we could have spent more time in the wilderness. P.s. she clicks amazing photos!

5.00We had a very cool snowshoe hike in a small group. Ruben, our guide, led our trip very well and gave us a very nice hike. During the hike he provided us with information about Finnish culture and the north. The atmosphere was great and we can definitely recommend Wild about Lapland!

5.00We spent two hours with Santi, our guide, walking in the snow west of Rovaniemi. We climb enough to have a view on the horizon, and that was an amazing one. Snow, animals' print, different type of tree, Santi was able to explain everything. In winter, walking in the snow in Finland is easy for everybody, but it's not the same to discover the Wilderness with a very good guide in a good company. We will all kept memories of this walk all our life. Thanks a lot.

5.00The meet-up was at the Wild about Lapland office. We were only 4 people including the guide, which was very nice. There, we were equipped with specific boots that fit the snowshoes and winter-proof overalls if needed. We drove for about 25min outside of Rovaniemi where we got an introduction to the snowshoes and then started walking. The walk took us up a little hill and then down to a teepee with an amazing view. There we made break to make an open fire and we had sausages, coffee and snacks. After the break it was a short walk back to the car. The activity took us about 3 hours in total. The whole walk was very nice, especially thanks to our guide, Tyler. He made the walk very special with little stories about Finnish nature and he made us feel very welcome and safe during the walk.
