The Open Water Diver certification is the 1st complete SSI certification you can earn and the most chosen course for beginners in Costa Rica and worldwide. This license is the most recognized in the dive industry and will allow you to dive anywhere in the world, independent of professional supervision, to a maximum depth of 18 metres/60 feet. This license is your passport to adventure and the key to open the door of the wonderful underwater world.

What To Expect
The SSI Open Water Diver course includes three parts: knowledge development, confined water dives, and open water dives. During the knowledge development module, you’ll gain an understanding of the principles, concepts, and terminology essential for safe and enjoyable diving. In the confined water dives module, you’ll learn and practice diving techniques in a pool or conditions similar to a pool. Additionally, you’ll enjoy one or more mini dives that will guide you through the same steps to follow when diving in open water. To complete your training, you’ll practice, apply, and demonstrate what you’ve learned during four open water dives at Catalina Islands. This will allow you to gain confidence, have fun and keep learning.

5.00I did my Open Water Course with Be Water Diving Tamarind and it was a great experience. I learned to dive with Lucas, who was very friendly, patient and funny, which made the whole course feel close and relaxed. Although I did the course alone, I felt confident the whole time. All the staff are very friendly and friendly, always willing to help. I highly recommend them to do the dive course with them, especially if it is your first time.

5.00Went with Be Water Diving to do PADI open water course for me and my 16 year old in mid March and was extremely satisfied. Our instructor Mary was extremely personable and professional and made sure we got to see as much as possible on our dives as well as ensuring the technical parts of the program were covered off. Lucas, the Dive Master who was also running a snorkeling excursion on one of the days functioned as an area expert providing insight and knowledge into the areas around and near the dive sites. Unfortunately due to weather the seas were quite rough, but at no point did we feel at risk in anyway as it was clear the boat captains were obvious area marine experts. ****Let me be clear if you are looking for the flashiest fanciest boats, you won’t be happy. This is a small shop with a small crew that is run like a family. You can tell how much they truly enjoy their jobs and how committed they are to the joy of the customers. Each day there were ample snacks, water, and laughs provided. So if you looking to learn to dive, this is a great place to deal with.

5.00My 10 year old son did his Jr. Open Water Diver course while we were vacationing in Tamarindo. As a former PADI instructor myself, I was super impressed with the professionalism of the team at Be Water Divers. Mary was very patient with my son and she made sure that he was comfortable and capable with all of the required skills in the pool and open water. She was amazing! My son finished his 3 day course feeling confident and excited to do more diving. The small class sizes and the staff’s ability to adapt to the needs of their students set this company apart from other companies in the area. Nico, the company owner was quick to reply to messages and helped out whole family join in with the fun, as the rest of us did snorkelling/certified diver tours at the same time. We highly recommend!
