What To Expect

This trip is easy, fun and suitable for everyone! Our experienced instructor will teach you the basics of stand-up paddle boarding so you will feel safe and confident during our trip. After that, we will take you to a small beautiful oasis, the island of Lazareta. Lazareta is located in front of New Chora beach in the center of Chania. You won’t reach this gem by foot! You will discover the small beaches of Lazareta and hear about the history of the island that goes back to the Venetian period in 16th century. We will have time to enjoy swimming. The water is very clear and friendly and there are plenty of fishes to see underwater ! While you’re relaxing in the sun, you can enjoy the breathtaking view above the town, where the White Mountains open wide and big at the back.

I highly recommend this tour! This is for experienced or beginners. Socrates is extremely friendly. He not only talked about some of the history that we experienced during the excursion but he also shared some of his favorite places to go to in Crete when we were done with the tour. Really great insight! This excursion was relaxing and exciting at the same time! He also takes some great photos and videos for you!

Paddle boarding with Socrates was truly an amazing experience that you can NOT miss!! As a VERY inexperienced paddle-boarder, he was patient with every aspect of the adventure and teaching. The views, snorkeling, and knowledgeable that Socrates shared were exceptional. MUST do!! Did I mention the views?! Omg! 🩷

I went on this trip as someone who had never tried paddle boarding before, and it was such a fantastic experience! Socrates was an amazing and kind instructor who explained everything clearly and calmly. He made sure we understood all the basics and felt safe before heading out onto the water, and he stayed supportive throughout the entire trip. He was truly an excellent teacher and made me feel secure, even when a big wave rolled in!! The trip itself is wonderful! You get to explore the area and even take a short break on a small island along the way. Socrates guides the group the whole time, taking you to a quieter spot where you can practice standing up and try paddling out into more open waters. And all of it is captured with photos and videos, which was such a nice bonus! I wholeheartedly recommend this experience! not just for the amazing adventure, but also for the chance to spend time with someone as kind and genuine as Socrates. He is incredibly sweet and truly one of the best teachers I've ever met!<3

Thank you for an amazing experience. The tour was very beautiful I every aspect. The coast line, blue water, sea turtles and more. Socrates knows he’s stuff. I would definitely recommend this!

Socrates loves the island and what he does. His enthusiasm shows in the care that he takes to ensure all of his guests had a great time. He adapted the tour to meet the skill level of the guests to ensure we got the most out of the experience. Would give this more stars if I could and recommend doing this tour if you have a free morning.

Absolutely wonderful experience all around and highly recommend! Socrates took us around the bay and to island for a special surprise. Extremely knowledgeable and fun to be with, our teenage boys thoroughly enjoyed him and the experience too! He also gave us incredible local recommendations. Thank you for such a wonderful time!

We booked directly with Socrates and the info given was precise. Very friendly greeting and was given training for a few minutes to have the best experience on the board. We had a great time and it was a fairly calm day which was great. We paddled out to an island and was told all about the history. A snack and water was provided and chance for a swim to cool down. Recommend highly and definelty suitable for beginners. Enjoy.

We booked this tour and it was nothing but amazing! Socrates was our tour guide and he was knowledgeable, friendly and even had a go pro to take pictures and videos for us. He sent them via a link on WhatsApp. We had so much fun on this short but adequate tour! It started with a quick lesson (in case you have never done it before). The water was calm so it wasn't too hard to stand. We started with a quick paddle to the marina where we saw two amazing water turtles! Then we paddled to an island where we docked our boards on shore. Socrates gave us water shoes and snorkeling equipment. We did a brief tour of the island and had a snack. He took group pictures and then we headed back to the beach. It was so fun and a great family activity. We would definitely do this again!
