What To Expect
Deserto de Viana
Far from light pollution in the big cities, Boavista is a particularly magical place for stargazing. Just 16 degrees from the equator, you can see star constellations of both the northern and southern hemispheres on Cape Verde. The camp of our Stargazing night we set up in the dunes of the Viana desert. We say goodbye to the day at sunset with a meditation and typical Cape Verde snacks. After dusk, the fascinating starry sky stretches over us. At the sky tent we can now discover planets, stars, moons, constellations and even shooting stars. We have telescopes and two experienced stargazers with us. Together with an astrologer we dive into the mythical symbolism of the night sky. So the holiday on Boavista offers not only the opportunity for a breathtaking star experience, but also for reflection and self-knowledge.

5.00I recently attended the Astronight experience and it was absolutely wonderful. The event was incredibly interesting, and our guide, Celine, was exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable. She made the whole evening engaging and enjoyable. We were also provided with snacks and drinks, which was a great added touch. Overall, it was a memorable experience that I would definitely recommend ✨

5.00My partner and I went on this tour last week; there was another couple, and the truly wonderful Celine. She was so generous with her knowledge and enthusiasm, in both English and German. The Viana desert is a really special place (as well as Boavista in general) and seeing the skies in this way, so full of stars, was incredible. It's lovely that some drinks and snacks are provided also.

5.00We spent a nice evening in the desert in a very small group (4 people + guide) and learned a lot about the constellations and planets from our guide Celine. We've seen the Milky Way and Saturn. Small local treats were available in top.

5.00The tour was such a beautiful experience... to lie in a small circle on a blanket in the desert, to be able to taste tea, pastries and the typical local brandy and to learn from Celine everything about the star constellations was so nice...I could have been there for more hours. Thank you for this experience 🫶

5.00Who knows how fascinating stars are is exactly right here. Watching the stars through a telescope on a blanket at night is simply indescribable! Celine can answer any question and explains everything worth knowing. We didn't want to leave the desert anymore. Your idea to make souvenirs from the plastic from the beach is just mega! They are really beautiful and a real souvenir with a special message! Thank you!

5.00We’d booked this excursion before we went to Boa Vista. We were picked up at our hotel and taken to Viana club where we were greeted by a welcome drink and cape Verdi music. We got a buffet and a desert. There were telescopes outside with well informed and friendly guides explaining constellations, answering questions and helping to look at the moon. The guides all speak different languages so anyone would be welcome and understood. Into the desert we were each given a blanket to relax and marvel at the clear skies. Only downside were some loud and rude people on the trip.

5.00It was more than we expected. We were picked up on time. The driver made us feel safe ( exspecially driving up & over the sand dunes) our guide was exceptionally, extremely friendly, very knowledgeable. We had refreshments & snacks which were provided. All in all a amazing evening
