What is the “Scuba Discovery” class? Well, let’s say you’re on vacation. You’ve always wanted to go scuba diving, but you’re not sure it’s something you want to invest the time or the money for a full certification course. You want to “try before you buy”. So you sign up for the Scuba Discovery (also known as Discover Scuba Diving, Try Scuba Diving, Tandem Diving, etc.) class.

What To Expect

We’ll start with filling up a medical question form. Then we’ll prepare your dive gear with best suitable equipment sizes. After that we’ll start dive briefing that explains you all information about scuba gear and dive techniques and how to communicate underwater with your dive buddies and all things we gonna do. Then we’ll go to a training in our lagoon about 1 m depth. We gonna put gears and learn how to breath and basic techniques in this very shallow deep area. After we finish training we’ll go to dive site call “rock-island” beautiful dive site with a reef and you see there different species of marine life. When we start it’s about 2 m deep on bottom. We’ll go around the dive site and maximum deep there is 10 m and we can see a ship wreck on this deepest point. Its all fun and adventure activity that shows you another world on the planet

Me and my friend went scuba diving for the first time and had an amazing experience! The team was really friendly and made us feel safe, even though we can’t swim. I did my PADI Open Water diving licence with Sun Diving Center in Unawatuna, with my instructor Ravindra Kumara. Ravindra and the entire Sund Diving Center team were really great in organising all the necessary dives and supported me in getting my licence in 3 days. It was really fun, and I can fully recommend that place. The owner Shan is very kind and nice, and organised very quickly all the necessary steps on short term notice. Thanks a lot, keep on with your great work and fun.

Sun Diving centre was the whole package! The people were informative, supportive and friendly. It was our first time diving and we were super nervous!! The guys made us feel safe and informed at all times. Once under we were surprised with the variety of marine life we saw, So amazing! Thanks to the team, for making our experience great! We will definitely be going back to them again!! We would definitely recommend this dive centre over others we looked at.

I really wanted to try scuba diving - but I was also very very afraid of it. Luckily, I was the only one, so I had an instructor for myself who was the best instructor I could imagine (his name is Sali). I told him about my fear and he was very patient and sensitive - so I was able to overcome my fears and to have an amazing experience. Thank you so much, Sali! :-) The rest of the employees were also very friendly, the equipment was absolutely okay and it was not too expensive. For little extra money they offered to make under-water photos for me!

This is a great dive centre for beginners like me who was extremely scared. The instructor was very patient, let me take my time. I was never rushed. The staff was friendly and helped me with all the questions I had. Prices are also very reasonable.

I am new to diving and am uneasy in the ocean sometimes and this place made me so comfortable! I got 1 on 1 diving with some lessons before we went out on the reef. We went at my pace and he really made me feel safe! Spotted lots of fish, an eel and a ship wreck. will definitely dive again after that experience! Very fun crowd, Everyone speaks English, also some French which is also amazing. Very affordable. Can’t say enough about this shop !

We went scuba diving for the first time and we could not have found a better diving school. The staff is super friendly and professional. We felt save all the time and had an amazing first scuba dive experience. I totally recommend them. You are great, guys! :)
