Stonehenge

Travel back over 5,000 years time to prehistoric Britain and explore the ancient ruins of the world's preeminent Neolithic monument. Enjoy 2.5 hours to explore the site at your own pace as you step inside the reconstructed Neolithic houses, furnished with replica axes, pottery and other functional items. Inside the world-class visitor exhibition centre, come face-to-face with a 5,500-year-old man and discover over 250 archaeological objects on display, including jewellery and even human remains. Admire the impressive megaliths of the ancient Stone Circle, some of which stand over 9 metres (30 feet) tall and weigh more than 25 tons. Along the landscape of the Salisbury Plain, you'll see hundreds of barrows that stretch as far as the eye can see. Find out why these barrows exist, and answer other important questions along the way such as 'who made Stonehenge' and 'how was Stonehenge built'.

We enjoyed our trip. It took two hours to get there and we stayed for two hours. The ride was nice. We enjoyed looking at the country side. Two hours was just the right amount of time at Stonehenge

  • Disappointing 1/2 day trip to Stonehenge today.

A “Half day” trip is not really a half day trip. we boarded the bus at.9:15am and did not return to St. Pancras bus terminal until 4:40 PM. We Completely missed out on our afternoon plans plans with friends and frankly, this should have been advertised as more of a day trip. The facilities were not functioning. Also, getting to the bus and finding the bus terminal was not easy. There was no proper signage / directions from the San Andreas train station to San Andreas bus station. It’s very confusing due to the fact. that there are many buses at the St Pancreas main station itself.

Make sure you know the gate you are departing from at the bus station before you arrive. There are over 25 gates.

Very poor communication from the tour company. The directions to the pick location gave a generic location and we were there 25 minutes early. Had to contact the tour company through chat and that is when they told to go inside to a gate. Arrived at the gate at the pick up time and the bus had already left. They knew we were there and left us there. We were traveling with a person in a wheelchair and it makes me wonder if they didn’t want to deal with us. They are refusing to give a refund or an opportunity for a future tour. Note that Viator provided no support. I will not use either companies in the future and I do travel a lot. We have traveled all around the world and have done many tours this was the first time we have ever had this happen.

The two hour one way bus ride was dirty, hot & smelly. I would not recommend to a friend. Tour was fine.

The audio part only is about 3 minutes and is basically a welcome to Stonehenge. It doesn’t provide any information about the sight.

You meet at a bus station, where a lot of other tour groups meet and it's a bit confusing to find where you're supposed to be. Give yourself plenty of time to wander around asking. The bus we were on was not completely full, if it had been, it would have been fairly uncomfortable. It also took 2 hours to get there with traffic. The bus takes you right to the welcome station for Stonehenge with a gift shop, restrooms and cafe. There, you can get on a shuttle that takes you right up to Stonehenge. You get an audio tour of the monument which is educational but you don't have much time to explore if you want time to get lunch, go to the restroom and shop. The cafe is absolutely packed and getting anything fresh was out of the question. On the way home, for almost an hour and a half, the AC was barely working on the bus which was very uncomfortable. Also, the bus dropped us at off at a totally different place than was listed in the description. Which made us late to our next reservation.

  • Extended tour is totally worth it!

Was recommended this experience by a friend and it did not disappoint! the bus picked us up from Victoria coach station right on time, our guide was great and handed out the audio guides when we got on. The drive there was pleasant and once in the country it was stunning. The extended time is worth it! we had time to take pictures, have a picnic, and get to visit the gift shop. Overall, i highly recommend this tour!

It was canceled twice. And I didn't get my money back. Evan Evans asked me to contact TripAdvisor myself for a refund, and they never answered. I'm extremely disappointed.
