Parque Nacional Canon del Sumidero
Explore Sumidero Canyon and begin your 2-hour boat ride along this majestic canyon. Admire the walls towering 2,500 feel above you and also see amazing waterfalls, caves and even spot monkeys, birds and crocodiles.
Chiapa de Corzo
Once you are done with the ride, you'll board your vehicle and drive to the Magic town (Pueblo Magico) of Chiapa de Corzo. This colonial city was founded by Spanish conquistadores. You'l'l enjoy a 2-hour visit here and have time to explore the town, walk around and, if you wish, enjoy a typical dish of the region. See the city's central fountain to admire the outstanding mudejar-style brickwork and surroundings such as the portals with colorful crafts for sale.

Amazing tour but Viator did not provide a good service

5.00This was a fantastic tour, the canyon is beautiful and well worth a visit. We were provided with an English guide on the boat trip which was very helpful and made the trip much more informative and interesting. We then went to lunch in the nearby town of Chiapas de Corzo. There was enough time for everything and we had a good day. Having said this, the organisation by Viator was not good - we were due to do this tour the day before and nobody turned up to pick us up. The phone numbers we’d been given went straight to voicemail and we couldn’t get in contact with anyone until we downloaded the app and contacted the tour operator (an hour after we should have been picked up) and they said they had no record of the booking. It seems to me that it is an essential part of Viator’s job to ensure that the bookings made on their site are transferred effectively to the agent and we were extremely disappointed this wasn’t done. It was lucky that we were able to rearrange for the following day as it also involved rearranging our hotel and onward travel plans. I would recommend booking directly with the tour provider.

1.00The tour operator never showed up, it was supposed to pick us up at our hotel at 9, I contacted the tour operator through their website at 9:22 (they didn’t reply on the Viator app) and they didn’t provide help to do the tour the same day (only refund - that is still to be received - or tour for another day). The support took long time to reply and even refused the WhatsApp calls (we didn’t know yet what to do, if they were picking up or not)

4.00We had a great experience, other than the boat driver was driving the boat erratic (swaying back and forth) to please some of the guests. He was however very knowledgeable about the canyon.

4.00We booked the 6 h tour without the viewpoints (miradores) but found ourselves on a 10 h tour with miradores which was not clear to us in the beginning. If you are staying in San Cristobal book the tour at one of the many tour companies von the street "Real de Guadeloupe", it only costs half of the price here, which means 600 MXN = 30 €. The canyon is absolutely amazing. I would always do the boat trip again. Chiapas is nice. A stay of 1-2 h is sufficient.
