What To Expect

This activity was a surprise as we had no idea what to expect. Even though there were only two of is, it was still fun, and you get to rest the noodles in a lovely soup/broth. This activity is how the local Beppu families do it so e we felt a good connection following on from the calligraphy class & tea ceremony. The Space is a lovely community house, with a cafe & items from local artisans for sale. Well worth a visit & doing the 3 activities. They also do a walk around the city but it was too hot for us to do this that day.

We had a brilliant time at Space Beppu doing the Summer Flowing noodles experience. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The noodles were delicious and our teenagers loved grabbing them out of the bamboo chute. Lovely building and shop. Their other activities also looked like great fun. Would highly recommend visiting Space Beppu.

The experience was great because of the locally grown bamboo kit:-) For me, it was the very first time eating sliding noodles. The bamboo items from the Nagai Bamboo Factory - where the bamboo kit for flowing noodles is made are stunning. You should check them out!

It was a great experience during this hot summer! My first bamboo slide noodle experience ever! I heard that the equipment is made from locally grown bamboo and produced by the last bamboo factory in this city. It's good to know that they are concerned about the environment by reducing plastic waste. Also, the bamboo-made slide feels nostalgic, making me feel like I share the same childhood summer memory as many Japanese people. Thank you to the kind host and staff!
