  we weren’t sure what this was going to be like, as it started pouring rain while we were heading down to begin our experience but we were able to wait it out until it slowed down/stopped. we could not have asked for a better experience. not only was the hour we booked a perfect duration of time for a cute dual kayak experience, but the previous rain made for a beautiful rainbow and a gorgeous golden hour time slot. it was so peaceful, yet fun/adventurous and all around wonderful. we were blown away by our host Grant, who was incredibly informative and friendly- but went above and beyond by giving us an extensive list of suggestions for our Ottawa trip! and when I say extensive i mean it- categorized suggestions based on location, experience type, personal recommendations etc. we were so grateful and wound up using the list to not only plan out the remainder of our trip but for future experiences. thank you so much Grant! :)

  I went for a solo paddling on the Ottawa River during a stunning September sunset which brought me an incredible sense of freedom, peace, and joy. 🌅✨ Huge thanks to Maria, Grant, and the Escape team for making this experience possible! I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a beautiful escape in nature! 🚣🏻‍♂️

  The whole experience was great. We accidentally arrived late to the location where the tour started but we were still able to participate. Our extremely friendly and genuinely nice guide Grant always made sure we felt very comfortable and safe on the water. The views were amazing and Grant told us interesting stories about the sights we passed along the tour. He also took many (great) pictures and made sure to send them all to us later. 10/10 Experience would absolutely recommend it to anyone, especially if you get the chance to do it with Grant as your Guide.

  Spent a very fun hour paddling on the Ottawa River in the sunshine yesterday, thanks to an Escape Tours kayak rental. Enjoyed the festive atmosphere at the NCC Riverhouse, located nearby, and paddled upstream to a marina before returning to the rental site. The young man who equipped me with the kayak was pleasant and helpful. I appreciated being able to lock my bike at the rental site and not worry about leaving it in a public area.

  Escapade Tours has a new rental location along the bike path, about 200 meters east of the NCC River House. We rented 3 single kayaks and paddled on the Ottawa river for 2 hours. It was enough time to paddle leisurely west to see the Rideau falls, and back, passing swimmers, marinas, sailboats and even a party floating Palapa! A perfect way to enjoy this heat, and safe for first timers. Their equipment is in top shape, and their employee, Tom, is super helpful, knowledgeable and professional. One day I’ll try their sunset kayak tours. If you like the water, I highly recommend Escape Tours. Note: parking is very limited at the NCC River House. We knew that so we parked at P4 on the George Etienne Cartier Parkway, and walked about 300 meters to the Escape rental kiosk. Perfect.
