What To Expect

1: Welcome & Gear Up Meet Your Tribe: You’ll gather at our beachfront camp, where you’ll meet your instructor and the other. Theory & Safety Chat (On Land): Before we touch the water, we sit in the shade for a 15-20 minute briefing. Your instructor will explain: The Pop-Up: You’ll practice the fundamental "pop-up" motion on the sand until it feels like second nature. Surf Etiquette: The "rules of the road" to keep everyone safe and happy in the lineup. Find Your Perfect Spot: Based on the day's conditions, we’ll walk just steps from our camp to the best part of Weligama Bay for your level. Beginners start in waist-deep, calm water. One-on-One Coaching in the Water: This is where the magic happens. Your instructor will be right beside you in the water, guiding you every step of the way. Paddling: They’ll help you find your balance on the board. Catching Waves: They’ll give you a gentle push at the perfect moment, so you can focus on standing up. The Thrill of Riding: You’ll feel the wave take you, and with your instructor’s guidance, you’ll pop up to your feet and experience the incredible rush of riding your first wave! My instructor was very patient and kind, he explained things so well. They were also very accommodating with me as I had food poisoning the day of my booking and allowed me to reschedule for another time. I was able to catch and ride a few waves and felt such an enjoyable experience for my first time. Highly recommend this surf school ☺️🌊

I started as a complete beginner, and Danny helped me reach a level I never expected so quickly. He explained everything really well, pushed me in a positive way, and gave me the confidence you need in surfing. Danny knows exactly how to motivate you and help you grow without ever making you feel overwhelmed. I always felt safe, supported, and encouraged. If you’re looking for a great surf coach who truly helps you improve, Danny is the one.

We had a surfing lesson with Danny. It was our first time to try surfing and it was great, we really enjoyed it! Have to come back someday for a longer stay. Danny was a great teacher.

Had a great lesson, an very friendly surfteacher! 1,5hour in the water is a good time to do a much. The water is not so deep, for beginners is this perfect

I was not planning to try surfing but Danny encouraged me to try and safe to say it was one of the best experiences. Danny was such a patient instructor and made sure both of us had the time of our lives. We got to use their sunbed all day and they even helped us sort our lunch. Had the best time in Weligama despite it being the off season. Would definitely visit again when in Sri Lanka. Huge thanks to Danny and blue waves surf school.

I had never surfed and in less than an hour, thanks to the great advice of my coach, I could surf the waves. The team is really adorable, smiling, a great time shared. My teacher was attentive and caring for me. The beach is full of surf school but it is without hesitation that I recommend!
