We are a team of local watermen sharing and teaching people about Moorea's Wildlife. We specialize in respectful and close wildlife interactions.
We have been making lifelong memories since 1984 !
Our eco-friendly tours are based on respecting our environment and the animals we encounter.
Our tours are 3 to 4 hours long and will allow us to observe and swim with humpback whales and any other animals present at the time.

What To Expect
NEW FOR 2025 : Per government regulations, only 6 guests per boat will be allowed to swim with humpback whales. The main objective during our expedition, as always, is to swim with humpback whales present in our waters between the months of July and late November. We can encounter different types of animals also during our expeditions. Snorkeling equipment and floatation devices are available on board if needed. If you want to swim with whales, we require strong swimming abilities and snorkeling experience. It can be an easy to moderate effort on most days, but it can be more challenging at times depending on ocean conditions and whales behavior. Passengers who cannot get in the water with whales can enjoy the show from the boat as well ( you can book our non-swimming tour) Please note : French law requires life jackets for all whale swimming tours, but provides exemption for those guests wearing neoprene wetsuit. It can be a shorty or a full suit. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO AVOID THE LIFE JACKET OBLIGATION PLEASE BRING A WETSUIT. We have life jackets on board and wetsuits are available for rent from a third party if needed, contact us for more information.

5.00Once in a lifetime experience swimming with a mom and baby whale! Our guides were extremely knowledgeable and gave clear instructions to ensure we were safe and also able to get very up close and personal! Would highly recommend Moorea Expeditions for this experience!

5.00Guide and Captain were skilled and made our experience safe and amazing. You need to be comfortable in the water and confident using mask and snorkel. You have to swim fast and be aware of your surroundings

5.00Had the best experience ever. O’Neill and Yannick were amazing. The best captain and O’Neill kept us safe in the water. Went out of Tahiti, saw 7 whales and swam with 5 of them. Even got to snorkel at a reef after with a ton of turtles. It was the most amazing day!

5.00We did the half day swimming with whales. We ended up going in the water twice and saw a calf the first time and a mama and calf the second time. AMAZING experience! If you’re going to moorea it is a must do activity, nothing like it.

5.00Absolutely fantastic morning! I felt our guide respected the whales and made sure we didn't stress them while still giving us enough time with them. Wetsuits are highly recommended so you don't have to wear a life jacket, which is French law. I can't stress enough how magical it is to have a mom humpback whale and her calf swim right past you!
