This wasn't a simple tasting. Mary took us to five different places, each with a different vibe from "local saloon" to "high end patio". At each one we learned a bit of Mexican and local history and tasted a creative taco. They were paired with a tequila or mezcal based cocktail. Her knowledge and enthusiasm made it so much fun!

Excellent walking tour to special restaurants/bars in El Centro. Our guide Mary was extremely knowledgeable about the history and most everything in SMA. The tequila and tapas at each stop were all tasty and unique. I highly recommend.

We loved this tour with Mary! She made the whole experience informational and fun. The food and drinks were delicious. We visited a good mix of places, but all were very local and friendly. The distances were close and Mary shared history and information along the way. I would highly recommend this tour!

This tour was one of the absolute highlights of our time in San Miguel de Allende. From start to finish, the experience was thoughtfully curated, engaging, and genuinely fun. Our guide, Sam, was exceptional—truly the heart of the experience. His depth of knowledge about San Miguel, combined with a rich understanding of Mexico’s history, culture, and culinary traditions, elevated this far beyond a typical food tour. He struck the perfect balance between storytelling and exploration, making every stop meaningful. What stood out most was his warmth and personality—he felt less like a guide and more like an old friend showing us around his city. The tour included five different stops, each offering something unique. The tacos were outstanding across the board—authentic, flavorful, and representative of the region’s diversity. The drink pairings were equally enjoyable, with a variety of margaritas that were creative, refreshing, and expertly prepared. A quick note for future guests: while the tour is titled “Tacos and Tequila,” the experience leans more toward margarita tastings, with only a couple of tequila samples. That said, we found this to be a welcome surprise—each margarita added a fun and flavorful twist to the experience. This tour is the perfect introduction to San Miguel—whether it’s your first visit or a return trip. It offers a wonderful mix of history, local flavor, and social energy. Highly recommend this tour—and if you can, request Sam. You won’t be disappointed.

Mary was such a great host of San Miguel and a wealth of information about the city and the history of the country. We went to five different places and enjoyed the food and frivolity of the local flavors. The drinks were excellent as was the company. We highly recommend the Tacos and Tequila Tour and recommend Mary as your guide.

A. thoroughly good experience. We have previously participated in the same tour, and now we could see that there were new exciting stops included. Mary, our guide, took us through an extremely varied tour with very different taste experiences. Her great knowledge of Mexico's culture and history meant that it was not only the food that gave the good experience. We left the tour wiser than when we arrived. So our best recommendations from here.
