The food experience in Almeria is unique, we call it "tapaear" (tapa-ing), but if you are not familiar with the city or do not speak Spanish it can be a daunting and sometimes disappointing task doing it on your own. I love food, fun facts about my city, and sharing all of the above with my friends. And now I can't wait to share all of the best things I have discovered with you!! The number of bars we will visit will depend on the continually changing regulations for the pandemic. No matter the number of locations you will leave with a very full stomach and a great experience!

5.00What a wonderful day this was. Cathy has entertained us excellently, we have seen nice places of the city and of course lots of goodies to eat and drink. Excellent way to get to know Almeria better and the local cuisine too. Cathy is a sociable woman who speaks easily about the city, a bit of history, but is especially well versed in the local cuisine. All in all a wonderful day.

5.00This was a truly fantastic tour - focus on tapas but with enough of a taste for the cultural aspects and buildings to encourage us to go back and visit in more detail. Cathy’s energy and enthusiasm for her home is infectious. The tour starts with a city walk going past several historic buildings with Cathy adding interesting facts and anecdotes along the way. We will definitely go back and visit these in more detail. Then we move onto the tapas - all the stops included tapas and drink within the tour price. My favourite experience was the indoor market where you can purchase fresh produce (gambas rochas in our case) and then take it to a kiosk bar where they cook it for you. We visited 5 taps bars in total so plenty to eat and drink. We have a holiday home in Roquetas and have visited for over 20 years but this is the first time we really got to tour Almeria city in detail. Thank you Cathy!!

5.00We stayed in the old town, near the supply market. Great area near the market for food, bars, drinking venues, reasonable prices and very friendly people, as if we were lifelong colleagues. It was very beautiful, the port beautiful, a city to visit, I recommend it.

5.00A great day out exploring the history of Almeria loaded with fun facts as we wandered around the historic part of the city. Followed by mid afternoon tapas at a number of the famous tapas bars trying the local dishes washed down with a chilled glass of wine. Informative, fun and Cathy really looked after us on the day. We all loved and feel more of a local with our new knowledge of the area. A must to do if you are in the area.

5.00A highly recommended tour. With an incredibly enthusiastic and pleasant American guide, Kathy, who will captivate you for several hours during this tour of beautiful Almeria. Fine food and watering spots discovered and pleasant contacts with the locals. Highly recommended! Do it.

5.00We went on this tour the day after arriving in Almería & are so pleased we did. Many of the tapas bars don’t have English menus & speak little English so our tour with Cathy really helped. Before we started the tapas bar tour Cathy gave us a little tour of the area. She also provided lots of general information which was invaluable for our break such as how to use the buses, beach bars, restaurant recommendations etc. She also sent a very intensive email afterwards detailing where we went, what we ate/drank & any other info we discussed which we referred back to quite often. She was like our own personal holiday rep! Definitely recommend!

5.00I was travelling by myself and this tour was the perfect way for me to learn about Almeria and experience all the delicious food and drink.....all with a really fun, energetic, knowledgeable "friend for the day" - my tour host Cathy! :-) The "tapa-ing" was so much fun and Cathy's recommendations on what food to try was spot on. I tried a few things that I've never had before - it was all so yummy and interesting as Cathy explained everything about the food too. Also per Cathy's suggestions, I tried a few new drinks and a couple of them have become favorites that I brought back home with me (red vermouth and also tinto de veranos). Above and beyond the food tour, along the way Cathy took me to many landmarks and points of interests - some I wouldn't have found myself - and shared her knowledge of the history of the city as well. Cathy also gave me great recommendations of other things to see and places to shop while I was there. It was a really fun day - I would highly recommend this tour to everyone. Thanks again Cathy!

5.00Excellent tour. Cathy was a very personable and knowledgable host. We had not visited Almeria before and she showed us bars we would never have visited by ourselves. We enjoyed seeing the market and the sights but the main focus was the food and drink. We had so much to eat and drink that we felt pleasantly full by the end of the tour. Thanks to Cathy we will have a much clearer idea of where to go and what to see next time we are in Almeria
