  • Fabulous group experience that brings a ritual to life.

A highlight on my stay in Okinawa! Our group had a special tea ceremony experience at Sasagirian and I LOVED it. The staff and tea ceremony master took us into another world of ritual, meaning, purpose and respect. Instead of rushing we took our time to explore the tradition with a thoroughness that left a lasting impression on all of us. We were in excellent hands and our group of ladies from Australia loved the experience.

My daughter-in-law and I really enjoyed this experience learning the cultural tradition of making tea in Okinawa. Getting to wear a traditional kimono and be in a real tea room was something we will always remember. The instructor was friendly and patient with us. The interpreter was very helpful and kind too. We would definitely recommend this experience to others.

We really enjoyed this experience. It was setup for the 4 of us perfectly and even though we were a half hour early, the tea master and translator were very accommodating. They explained the traditional tea ceremony and walked us through every step. We highly recommend this experience.

The traditional tea ceremony was nothing less than the most meaningful experience of a lifetime. I have never participated in something so intentional and beautiful. The tea master and interpreter are excellent teachers, and very clearly conveyed to our four person party, the importance of each individual part of the process. I recommend this to anyone and everyone who is interested in learning the art of a beautiful piece of history and culture.

The reverence for the tea room was beautiful. Loved how nature was incorporated into everything. Really enjoyed all of the intricate details from the paintings, flower arrangements, clothes, and tea ceremony itself. It was a very peaceful experience.
