Erdene Zuu Monastery

Expanse over a large area, this Monastery is among the biggest one in Mongolia. A mostly intact Mongolian (Tibetan) Buddhist monastery. The wall paintings are particularly worth seeing in the Western and Eastern Temples. A short walk from the rear is the famous tortoise and the site of Karakoram (really nothing left to see). As it is a long way from Ulaanbaatar it’s best combined with other nearby attractions. This monastery can be dated back to 1585, built from the ruins of Genghis Khan's ancient capital. Today, it is still used as an active monastery. It‘s amazing to be on time to listen to the soothing chant of the Head Priest, who seeing the large number of devotees. The moment he started the chant, everyone was in a sort of meditation swaying their bodies in rhythm with the chant. One should visit this monastery and try and synchronize it with the chant timing.

Kharkhorin

Great introduction to the history of Mongolia. The top two floors are particularly interesting with a beautiful array of national costumes. The only drawback would be the lack of English information. An english speaking guide through this museum would have been great. This is a great place packed with knowledge. There is information from "a" to "z", anything you could possibly want to know about Mongolia, its culture, history, heritage. It is very well organized, has lots of lots of exhibitions and displays. Traditional clothing, ger culture, history of Mongolia through all the ages, the way to democracy, musical instruments, every day accessories and many many more. Definitely recommended to pay it a visit!

Elsen Tasarkhai

We called it Elsen Tasarkhai, only sand dunes we could find between Kharkhorin and Ulaanbaatar. You may experienced and felt what the Gobi Desert would be like. It lays one of the mixture of most unique and beautiful landscape of lake, rocky mountains and sand dunes.

Hustai National Park

Hustai National Park is truly an unforgettable experience deserving a solid five-star rating. The park’s stunning natural beauty and the impressive display of wildlife, particularly the Przewalski’s horses, made the trip a phenomenal adventure. A highlight of Hustai National Park is undoubtedly the opportunity to see Przewalski’s horses in their natural habitat. This endangered species of wild horse, preserved and protected in the park, is a sight to behold. Observing these majestic animals roam freely in the wilderness was a humbling and awe-inspiring experience. Here to spot the wild horses, takhis as many herd. The management of the park is the responsibility of an NGO. The arrangement is very effective. Beyond the captivating wildlife, the natural landscape of the park itself is breathtakingly beautiful. The rolling hills, dotted with various flora, offer a serene and tranquil environment that makes you feel at one with nature.

  • Very tight with budget

Tour wad great itself. Guide put lots of efforts to that, he drove well. But sadly on last day during the lunch and after very poor breakfast he refused to buy salads to lunch saying host is tight with budget. I personally have paid £410 for tour and lunch was not much than £5. So I am wondering what was thar £410 for if host is that tight with money to refuse buy simple salad with lunch. People eneded up paying for salads and tea. That was absolutely out of order. At this point I would use thus company again neither recommend it to anyone.

It was a really fun 3-day tour. I was able to experience the life of Mongolian nomads, and it was more than I expected. Our guide, Bachi, treated us well. I would recommend it if you are looking for a 3-day tour.

Amazing authentic Mongolian experience. Davka was full of information - a great guide. I’ve read other reviews which are unfair - this is not a hotel lux experience - this is about staying in authentic Yurts, being with nomadic families, eating local food and where creature comforts of home aren’t the same. You want to get a real taste of Mongolia? Do it this way. Don’t expect showers or flush toilets everywhere. Don’t expect a private yurt. Do expect magnificent scenery, an incredible history lesson, a deep insight into nomadic life and the chaos of Mongolian driving. Hot tip? Bring some toilet paper, a bed roll to sleep on (beds are very very hard) and a sleeping bag.

We had to sleep in the same tent, which was not mentioned in the description. Extremely uncomfortable (bed, mini van, accommodation). We didn’t event have a toilet. Food was terrible. So the question is: where did the $500 dollar go?

It was great experience. This tour covers good interest places where is difficult for private tourist to go. The driver/guide has enough knowledge to explain the places.

Bachi was fast to collect money. December 2019, I made a full payment for the Mongolia tour in May 2020. Under the agreement, I can have 100% refund when I cancelled before April 2020. Due to Covid, I need to cancel the tour in March and asked for refund. After numerous emails and empty promises from Bachi, 9 months have passed and U never get my money back. In addition, he is now uncontactable. While I understand that tourism could be worst hit by Covid. The least he could do is to reply me - and if he gives a date - to honour it.

It was a great experience with Travel Mongolia. The packages offered by them are interesting and price friendly. We chose the best package of 3 days tour to Central Mongolia. Although it was just 3 days, we felt that we have covered quite a decent trip. So if you have just 3 days of trip time, then this is the best deal for you. We were picked up on time, travel was always precise, stay was comfortable. Our guide was really friendly and kind. It was a trip to remember!

We look the 3-day tour as a last minute decision. I can honestly say that it was a good decision. We have experienced a mini version of Mongolia, thanks to Travel Mongolia. A Lot of things done for the very first time like camel riding, spotting the horses, living in camps and gazing at the beauty around. I am in love with Mongolia due to this trip. Travel Mongolia is an excellent company for your travel plans to places around Mongolia.

  • Great tour, but not perfect

The tour includes everything that is promised: - very friendly and attentive guide - tour includes everything (food and tickets) - the experience with the nomadic family really is authentic The company responsible for this tour: Travel Mongolia answered all my requests and were super proactive. Why wasn’t it perfect? The only problem on the tour was that the nomadic family was not prepared to receive us. On the next day, the family would have a wedding so all the family members were very busy and could not give us so much attention. I think once the company is aware of that fact (that the nomadic family is really busy) it would be necessary to arrange another family who could provide a little more attention to the guests.
